Opportunity: CACI is looking for an experienced Space Vehicle
Modeling and Simulation Engineer to work with NASA's human-rated
spacecraft systems in support of our Nation’s space exploration
initiative at NASA / Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.
Candidates should have great interest in spacecraft vehicles and
systems, enjoy working with software, and most of all, possess a
great passion to contribute to our Nation’s exploration of space.
This work involves math model and simulation development,
integration, verification and validation on Linux PC platforms
using the Trick© Simulation Environment and Development Toolkit.
Individual will execute large-scale simulation verification and
validation tasks and develop math models and simulations in support
of the Artemis program for NASA space vehicles lunar base, and
lunar surface exploration . The ideal candidate has spacecraft
domain experience in Guidance, Navigation, and Controls and a
strong simulation development background. The engineer in this role
will support lunar base and lunar surface exploration simulation
unit test development, code coverage analysis, verification, and
validation for Class C simulation software. The engineer will
identify and implement improvements to math models and simulation
scenarios, analyze simulation data to evaluate system
characteristics and performance, and support continual enhancements
to the simulation architecture. This position requires a
self-motivated, capable person with strong verbal and written
communication skills. In addition to outstanding technical
expertise, the individual must be very people savvy with strong
customer relationship skills, possess a positive team-player
attitude, and be flexible and willing to take on new assignments
and responsibilities as they arise. Finally, the most qualified
candidate will be an articulate speaker able to communicate complex
technical ideas in a convincing manner, must share our passion for
our Nation's Space Program, and share in the excitement of
developing the next human-rated space vehicles. Responsibilities:
Develop space vehicle system and subsystem simulation math model
requirements, verify model requirements, and validate the
simulation and models. Design and develop math models for
spacecraft systems and subsystems including hardware and software.
Develop simulation scenarios to test nominal and off-nominal
spacecraft operations. Perform analysis on simulation data to
investigate spacecraft system performance. Present analysis results
and their impact on spacecraft performance, vehicle design and
mission design to customers. Qualifications: Required: U.S. Citizen
or Permanent Resident for access to USG Facilities. B.S. in
Aerospace or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related
disciplines with experience in software development, including
overall project design, programming, testing, verification,
validation, and documentation. 5 years of experience working with
aerospace vehicle simulations and math model development. Greater
experience is highly valued. 5 years of experience with simulation
and math model verification and validation processes. 5 years
minimum experience with C++ and Python in a Linux environment.

version control tools such as git. Strong computer and software
skills in Linux environments. Ability to manage multiple priorities
with minimal supervision. Highly responsible, team-oriented
individual with strong work ethic. Desired: M.S. Aerospace or
Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Modeling and Simulation
and relevant work experience in aerospace software development
projects. Experience with NASA NPR 7150.2 Class C Certification
requirements. Experience with software simulation programming and
scenario development, e.g., NASA / CACI Trick simulation is a plus.
Experience with NASA’s VERAS Python tool suite is a plus.
Experience with spacecraft simulation development using NASA JEOD.
5 years of experience with one or more spacecraft domain including
orbital dynamics; robotic dynamics; Guidance, Navigation, and
Controls; flexible body dynamics; vehicle kinematics; sensors; and
effectors. Greater experience is highly valued. Experience with
Continuous Integration tools and methods. Experience with Monte
Carlo simulation methods. Experience with MATLAB/Simulink. This
position is contingent on funding and may not be filled
immediately. However, this position is representative of positions

host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not
limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor
categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience,
specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
