Job Description:
We are looking for the right people - people who want to
innovate, achieve, grow and lead. We attract and retain the best
talent by investing in our employees and empowering them to develop
themselves and their careers. Experience the challenges, rewards
and opportunity of working for one of the world's largest providers
of products and services to the global energy industry. About
Landmark : Landmark, a Halliburton company, builds the software and
data platforms that help the global energy industry make better
decisions. Our products span subsurface interpretation, well
construction planning, reservoir simulation, and digital
operations. These are tools used daily by engineers and scientists
at the world's largest energy companies. This role leads one of the
most technically important efforts in Landmark's engineering by
building shared accelerators that power the next generation of
AI-enabled software. You will define this strategy and build it
from the ground up, leading a substantial engineering organization.
About the Role: This role has two distinct phases that form a
coherent strategic arc. Near term: platform modernization.
Landmark's product portfolio is built on a shared internal platform
that provides common capabilities across multiple products. Your
first mission is to lead the evolution of that platform:
rationalizing shared dependencies, enabling independent delivery
cadences across product teams, and establishing the architectural
patterns that allow each product to move at the pace its team is
capable of. This is a deliberate, sequenced program with high
cross-team visibility and direct impact on how fast Landmark ships.
Enduring mission: product accelerators. As that modernization takes
hold, this organization transitions to owning the key shared
capabilities that Landmark's product portfolio will be built on
going forward. The first and most important of these is
visualization core: not a standalone visualization application, but
an embedded component layer that product teams integrate to provide
high-performance 3D and scientific rendering in their own
applications. The longer arc is broader, involving common
components that enable agentic experiences in and across Landmark's
application portfolio. This means the shared infrastructure for
human-in-the-loop AI workflows, including reasoning interfaces,
explainability components, visual comprehension layers, and agentic
orchestration primitives that product teams will use to deliver
AI-enabled capabilities to customers without rebuilding the same
foundations repeatedly. WHAT YOU WILL DO Platform Modernization
(Phase 1) Lead the technical assessment and modernization plan for
Landmark's internal shared platform, understanding current
dependencies, identifying rationalization opportunities, and
sequencing a migration that enables product teams to adopt
independent delivery cadences Define the target architecture: the
line between what remains shared, what moves closer to product
teams, and what gets retired Manage the transition in partnership
with product engineering leaders, maintaining continuity for teams
that depend on the current platform while progressively
establishing the new model Build and lead the engineering
organization that executes this work, including hiring, developing,
and growing the team Product Accelerators: Visualization Core
Define the strategy, architecture, and delivery roadmap for
Landmark's visualization core as an embedded component layer, a
high-performance 3D and scientific rendering capability that
product teams integrate into their own applications Lead the
engineering team that builds and maintains this component layer,
ensuring it meets the performance, reliability, and integration
ergonomics that product teams require Work directly with product
engineering leaders to understand integration requirements and
ensure the visualization core serves as a genuine accelerator that
reduces the effort required to deliver rich visualization
capabilities, rather than a coordination bottleneck. Product
Accelerators: Agentic Experience Infrastructure Define Landmark's
strategy for the common components that enable agentic AI
experiences across the application portfolio: the shared
infrastructure for human-in-the-loop workflows, visual
explainability, reasoning interfaces, and agentic orchestration
that product teams will build on Build the engineering team and
roadmap that delivers this infrastructure in a way that allows
multiple product teams to adopt it progressively Partner with
product management, domain science, and research to ensure the
agentic experience infrastructure reflects actual customer workflow
needs, where humans remain in the loop, empowered by visual
comprehension and explainability rather than presented with AI
outputs without context Organization Leadership Lead a substantial
engineering organization across the platform modernization and
product accelerators work streams, managing through Engineering
Managers and senior technical leads Develop your engineering
leadership team by setting clear expectations, providing regular
feedback, and building a bench of strong managers and technical
leads who can grow with the organization Manage the engineering
budget for this organization, covering headcount, tooling, cloud
infrastructure, and research investments Represent Product
Accelerators in executive planning, product strategy forums, and
with key technology partners Define and track the engineering and
product outcomes that demonstrate this organization is delivering
on its mission, including product team velocity improvements,
time-to-integration for shared components, adoption rates, and
agentic capability delivery milestones WHAT YOU WILL BRING Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering,
Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent
professional experience 12 years of software engineering or
engineering leadership experience 5 years leading engineering
organizations, with direct management of Engineering Managers or
senior technical leads Demonstrated experience leading
architectural modernization of a complex, shared software platform
to enable product team independence Strong technical depth in
distributed systems, platform architecture, or shared component
design, sufficient to lead architectural decisions and earn the
trust of senior engineers Track record of delivering complex,
multi-team technical programs with accountability for quality,
timeline, and technical outcome Strong executive communication
skills, with the ability to represent a technically complex
strategy to business leadership and translate architectural
decisions into business outcomes Preferred Experience designing and
delivering embedded component libraries or shared UI and
visualization component systems consumed by multiple product teams
Familiarity with 3D rendering, scientific visualization, or
high-performance graphics engineering, either through direct
experience or leadership of teams doing this work Experience
building shared infrastructure for AI or ML capabilities, such as
inference serving, agent orchestration, human-feedback integration,
or LLM tooling, at product scale Understanding of what "human in
the loop" means in the context of domain-expert workflows: where AI
augments rather than replaces expert judgment, and how software
design supports that distinction Familiarity with the energy
industry's technical workflows and the kinds of decisions that
domain scientists and engineers make with software, sufficient to
reason about what agentic AI experiences should look and feel like
for these users Experience managing globally distributed
engineering organizations across multiple time zones We welcome
candidates from all backgrounds and encourage you to apply even if
your experience does not match every item in the preferred list.
Why Landmark This is a technically unusual role that requires the
judgment to modernize a complex shared architecture and the vision
to define what comes next. Both parts of the mission matter: the
platform modernization work has immediate, measurable impact on
product team velocity, and the accelerators work shapes how
Landmark competes in the AI era. You will have CTO-level
sponsorship, a real team and budget, and the scope to make
decisions that will define Landmark's engineering architecture for
the next decade. We build small, high-ownership teams and invest in
the quality of every person on them. Engineers here co-author the
product strategy alongside product management and domain science:
the art of the possible is an engineering contribution, not a
function that sits upstream. The experiences we design ensure that
customers remain in control of the decisions that matter, never
passengers in their own workflows. We offer competitive
compensation including bonus and long-term incentive programs, and
the opportunity to lead work that is genuinely novel in the energy
software industry. Candidates having qualifications that exceed the
minimum job requirements will receive consideration for
higher-level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job
requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education,
experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might
be available from Senior Manager up to Director Halliburton is an
