Position Summary This full-time position is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of various Legal Recruiting initiatives in the Texas offices of Reed Smith, and will serve as the local contact for the Houston and Austin offices. Recruiting duties include, but are not limited to, coordinating the fall recruitment process and summer associate program, assisting with new associate orientation and integration, and supporting the recruitment of lateral associates for the Texas market. Additionally, this position will assist with the lateral associate and summer associate hiring processes, interact with other service departments (Payroll, Benefits, RSU and IT) and other HR personnel in other offices, and take part in special Legal Recruiting projects. Additionally, access to our U.S. offices will be limited to personnel who are fully vaccinated from COVID-19. Essential Functions Students Outreach Coordinate meetings with Career Services Offices Execute outreach events for Houston and Austin schools Assist with scheduling campus outreach and attend local outreach events OCI Ensure timely submission of administrative details such as pre-selects & post-interview details Be involved in preparation for interviews such as organizing interview binders and interviewer training meetings Register for OCI at Texas schools Coordinate OCI, including callback scheduling and interviewers Prepare and organize interviewing materials for attorneys and ensure that all feedback is accounted for in advance of hiring decisions Greet candidates for callback interviews in the office and escort to conference rooms Maintain and organize candidate records Send correspondence as needed Summer Program Plan and execute the summer program for the Houston and Austin offices with support from Texas Recruiting team Support the summer program by coordinating orientation trainings, social events, assignment tracking, and performance evaluations Serve as "boots on the ground" execution for events in Houston and Austin; this team member will need to have the ability to travel back and forth between these offices Ensure timely collection of work assignment feedback Organize logistics for hiring committee meetings Lateral Associates Handle lateral associate scheduling Ensure all data is correctly entered and updated in all recruiting databases Be present for any in-office Houston interviews Handle additional various admin tasks related to lateral candidates as needed Handle additional administrative tasks such as candidate expenses, internal spreadsheets, etc. There will be ample growth opportunities built into this role so that there is strong exposure to the Texas market & the firm Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in a professional discipline required. Experience: A minimum of two years of Legal Recruiting experience is preferred. Law firm experience is also preferred. Should have a demonstrated understanding of current market trends and philosophies. Skills: Requires strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good judgment, a professional demeanor and the ability to provide an excellent first impression of the Firm. Must work well with all levels of Firm personnel, establish effective working relationships throughout the Firm and react to difficult situations appropriately. Confidentiality is essential. Must be highly motivated, creative, flexible, adaptable to change and results-oriented. Must have strong knowledge of MS Offices products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Other Supervisory Responsibilities: None Equipment To Be Used: Personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, calculator, fax, machine, copier, scanner, etc. Typical Physical Demands: Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment. Communicate with various personalities at all levels. Working Conditions: Works in typical office setting. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule.
