Successful Contracts and Labor Attorneys will be able to:
Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and agreements for a wide range of goods, services, and equipment in the Airline industry. IATA contract knowledge a plus.
Manage Total Airport Services' contracts database.
Identify and define operational and legal risks and be able to communicate those risks to appropriate internal decision-makers for discussion and resolution.
Interact with internal clients efficiently and effectively to address legal and business questions.
Advise the company and senior management on federal and state regulatory and compliance matters, including identifying areas of risk and making suggestions for improvement.
Advise the company on employment related issues such as workers' compensation, termination, sexual harassment, workplace safety, wage and overtime standards, privacy rights and discrimination.
Work with the VP HR in developing and implementing human resources strategic initiatives.
Coordinate and manage outside counsel and litigation.
Keeps informed of industry-specific regulations and ensuring that appropriate risk management strategies are in place.
Manage Outside Counsel consultations and spend.
Provide day-to-day counseling on employment matters to Human Resources team
Advise human resources and management on employee relations matters, such as terminations, lay-offs, discipline, leaves of absence and accommodations, as well as compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws.
Handle administrative matters at federal and state agencies, such as the EEOC, workers' compensation boards, and human rights bodies.
Draft and advise on employment related documents, including offer letters, incentive compensation plans, and termination agreements.
Remain informed and update HR team on legal, regulatory and other developments in the employment law area.
Update HR policies to comply with applicable laws and reflect legal developments.
What Do You Need?
Must be actively licensed to practice and in good standing in the state of Texas.
At least 2 years' experience negotiating and drafting legal contracts.
Familiarity with matters of vendor responsibility, contract compliance, or government/public procurement.
Ability to quickly understand provisions of applicable law and regulations.
Accountable and proactive with excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, leadership, organizational, communication and negotiation skills.
Excellent legal writing skills.
Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
Experience objectively coaching employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of employees in the organization including senior leaders.
Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Be a minimum of 18 years old.
Be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Eligibility to obtain necessary credentials and clearances.
To be punctual and commit to your assigned schedule.
