Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Legal Analyst --- through June 8th at 11:59 p.m CST------
This position is in the Procurement, Construction & Digital Contracting Law Group ("PCDC Law Group"), which provides legal support to Chevron's Procurement/Supply Chain Management ("P/SCM") Function, including support to the Global Wells Function, Information Technology ("IT") contracting, Capital Projects across the enterprise, Chevron Real Estate (CRE) and the Chevron Foundation Contracts Center. The selected candidate for this position will support the PCDC lawyers and will work with Chevron business clients, outside counsel, local Business Unit Chevron counsel, and other stakeholders on a variety of projects, including the negotiation of global agreements for goods and services, IT contracts (including software, Software as a Service ("SaaS"), and subscription agreements), confidentiality agreements, and any other contracts as may be needed by the business.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:



  • Preparing, drafting, and reviewing, agreements for goods and services.


  • Obtaining input from internal subject-matter experts from multiple functions and organizations on contractual provisions and approval of transaction documents. Subject matters include data privacy, cybersecurity, import/export, anti-boycott, FCPA, etc. compliance, tax, finance, and health and safety.


  • Helping manage Chevron's policy and compliance requirements to facilitate document execution.


  • Assisting in transactional due diligence and privilege reviews.


  • Creating and maintaining position summary tables throughout contract negotiations.


  • Conducting legal research as needed.


  • Multi-tasking and prioritizing work assignments to consistently provide high quality work product within given deadlines.


  • Proactive in looking at areas for simplification and work process optimization.


    Required Qualifications:


    • 5+ years work related experience.


    • Demonstrated good teamwork experience, the ability to handle multiple assignments, and ability to have positive impact on projects while working under tight deadlines.


    • The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical capabilities, excellent subject matter expertise and judgment to identify issues and elevate as may be necessary. The candidate should have a strong interest in contracting.


    • Demonstrated proficiencies in critical analysis and data management. (This should be tested with an interview question where the applicant provides example of a case in which they used their critical analysis skills)


    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite tools, Adobe Acrobat, and legal research applications.


    • Strong communications skills (both oral and written). Ability to communicate effectively across broad functional and organizational lines.


    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and attorneys.


    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.


    • Ability to maintain high-quality performance with varied deadlines and competing priorities.


    • Strong organizational skills.


    • Knowledge and understanding of Chevron's preferred tools such as SharePoint, OneNote, iManage, and Microsoft Teams.


      Preferred Qualifications:


      • Bachelor's Degree


      • Paralegal certificate or degree or working towards the completion.

        • The anticipated salary range for this position is $97,800 - $146,600 . The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
