Our law firm is seeking a family attorney who can assist clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. Jobseekers should be equally familiar with prenuptial agreements, divorce, alimony, child support, and real estate, and be able to effectively engage in oral debate and negotiation even in highly stressful and emotional situations. Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 Incentive Compensation - Flexible Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 yearly Responsibilities: - Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current - Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases - Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action - Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed - Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process - Represent clients in family law court proceedings, as needed - Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, and then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action - Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings - Work closely with paralegals and legal assistants to support clients through their legal process Qualifications: - Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association) - Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred - At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary - 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position - Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high - Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations - Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case - A bachelor’s degree with a legal background and a J.D. degree are required - Licensed to practice law in New Jersey About Company We protect the sacred bond between children and their parents, esp. fathers, when relationships end.
