preserving and protecting Texas waters. 1.0 Summary The Warehouse
and Building Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for supporting
laboratory operations through effective management of inventory,
facility maintenance coordination, and supply chain logistics. This
role oversees vendor-managed inventory, shipping and receiving
processes, and ensures the availability of laboratory supplies and
chemicals while maintaining appropriate stock levels. The position
coordinates with contractors performing building work and ensures
safety protocols and permits are properly implemented. This
individual works closely with the Lab Manager and other facilities
to maintain operational continuity, support budget, and support
safe and efficient laboratory operations. Reports to the Lab
Compliance Officer. 2.1 Typical Duties and Responsibilities 2.1
Manage vendor-managed inventory programs for laboratory equipment,
supplies and chemicals, ensuring adequate stock while minimizing
excess inventory. 2.2 Monitor supply levels and proactively order
materials to prevent disruptions to laboratory and support
operations. 2.3 Prepare purchase requisitions and manage ordering
processes for laboratory equipment, supplies, chemicals, and
facility materials in accordance with approved budgets. 2.4 Track
and manage inventory levels to optimize stock levels, ensure
location and retrievability, monitor supplies aging, and reduce
excess on-site inventory where appropriate. 2.5 Maintain accurate
shipping and receiving documentation and ensure materials are
properly logged, inspected, stored and distributed. 2.6 Coordinate
with other facilities to track shared inventory, parts, and
supplies and support inter-facility requests. 2.7 Maintain
organized warehouse and storage areas to ensure safe storage and
ready access of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and equipment. 2.8
Coordinate and oversee contractors performing facility maintenance,
repairs, and improvement work within the laboratory building and
grounds. 2.9 Prepare and manage required safety documentation
including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) permits, hot work permits, and
confined space permits. 2.10 Perform routine facility maintenance
activities including minor repairs, upkeep of work areas,
replacement and coordination of building service needs. 3.0
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 3.1 Knowledge of inventory control
systems and procedures. Ability to interact with coordinators,
other facilities, and lab leadership in a productive manner to
support inventory needs. 3.2 Proficient in the operation of
computer systems and applicable software. 3.3 Ability to read
purchase orders, requisitions, vendor catalogs, packing list,
receiving reports, and correspondence. 3.4 Ability to perform
mathematical calculations. 3.5 Ability to write receiving reports,
repair tickets, and ship tickets. 3.6 Ability to operate equipment
such as scales, hoists, shipping trucks, etc., including packaging
equipment. 3.7 Ability to safely operate assigned vehicle and/or
mobile and other material handling equipment. 3.8 Ability to use
small hand tools. Ability to use and carry ladders. 3.9 Ability to
operate office equipment such as a computer, fax, scanners and
copier. 3.10 Ability to communicate orally in person and by radio
and telephone. 4.0 Environmental conditions 4.1 Work is performed
indoors and outdoors in extreme heat (100 ºF) and cold (32 ºF) with
proper precautionary procedures. 4.2 Work is performed indoors and
outdoors in an industrial and laboratory setting. 4.3 Work involves
exposure to potential noise, mechanical, electrical, fume/odor,
dust/mite, chemical, hazards with proper precautionary procedures
and equipment. 4.4 Able to meet requirements and wear personal
protective equipment (PPE) when required. 5.0 Education,
certification, and experience required 5.1 High school diploma or
equivalent 5.2 Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse
operations, inventory management, facility maintenance, or a
related operational support role. 5.3 Experience with shipping and
receiving processes and inventory tracking. 5.4 Experience
performing basic building maintenance or facility support tasks.
5.5 Experience working in industrial, municipal, laboratory, or
similar operational environments preferred. 5.6 Possess and
maintain a valid Class “C” Texas Driver’s license and meet vehicle
insurance carrier requirements for insurability. 6.0 Physical
requirements 6.1 This is an on-site position that requires presence
at GCA locations. 6.2 Ability to occasionally sit, stand, walk,
kneel, crouch/stoop, squat, and twist upper body while performing
tasks such as working with files and moving around facilities and
customer locations, 6.3 Work involves performing job duties
occasionally under tight deadlines and/or in non-standard
situations. 6.4 Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. 6.5
Ability to operate a pallet jack and hoist lift system. 6.6 Working
non-standard and extended hours as necessary. 6.7 Work effectively
performing duties under tight schedules and deadlines 6.8 Ability
to lift heavy, bulky items such as electric motors, pumps and parts
weighing up to 40lbs. 7.0 Summary The above statements are intended
