NASA at Johnson Space Center)Job Summary: The Artemis Cross-Program
Integrator will support the Human Health and Performance (HHP)
Assistant Director for Exploration at NASA/JSC. The position will
be part of a team of integrators and subject matter experts (SMEs)
who work together to ensure NASA human spaceflight programs
adequately incorporate and implement NASA Health and Medical
Technical Authority (HMTA) standards from NASA-STD-3001 into
vehicle design. The Artemis Cross-Program Integrator will obtain
and maintain technical knowledge across all human health and
performance disciplines and engage SMEs for the details. HHP
disciplines include crew health, environmental factors, medical
operations, physiology, anthropometry, strength and biomechanics,
maintenance and housekeeping, safety, habitability and
architecture, information management, and displays and controls.
The position will participate in designated Cross-Program
Integrated Task Teams (ITT) as a mechanism for monitoring the
incorporation of HHP design consideration in Artemis programs.
These ITTs include crew survivability, human rating, mission
integration, flight operations, Program interfaces, flight
certification, verification and validation, and baseline
integration. The Artemis Cross-Program Integrator will monitor how
well HMTA requirements are met, ensure that issues of unmet or
under met requirements are documented, communicate the status of
these issues to the HHP Assistant Director for Exploration, and
prepare materials for communicating awareness or escalating issues
as needed. The position will interface with HMTA and JSC Human
Health and Performance (HHP) Directorate management as well as with
Program personnel. HMTA Lessons learned while providing support to
Human Spaceflight Programs are leveraged to improve HMTA standards
and strategic processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and maintain general knowledge of HMTA standards,
Artemis Program vehicle implementation, and impact to Artemis
Program constraints, including mass, cost, and schedule.
- Participate in designated Artemis Cross-Program Integrated Task
Teams (ITTs) as the HMTA/HHP representative.-- This includes
proactively screening agendas in order to engage appropriate HHP
representatives and/or SMEs as needed, taking notes during
meetings, and communicating relevant information to the HMTA/HHP
- Coordinate with the JSC HHP Assistant Director for Exploration,
the Chief Health and Performance officers (CHPO) for Artemis
Programs, HHP cross Program integration team and HHP technical
Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Coordinate and liaison with Artemis human spaceflight Program
personnel, including ITT leads and NASA Technical Authority
- Provide insight to Program compliance with HMTA mandatory
standards as well as inform HMTA decisions. Evaluate cross-vehicle
interfaces to ensure they system is integrated and works together.
Identify issues and elevate as necessary.
- Contribute towards definition and execution of Cross-Program
HMTA team support structure, processes, and execution.
- Coordinate and participate in HMTA/HHP review of Program Change
- Participate in development of HHP participation in the Artemis
Programs' Certificate of Flight Readiness processes.
- Coordinate and participate in Program document and design
reviews, develop corresponding summary assessments, and follow up
on resulting actions.
- Participate in complex system analysis and develop
corresponding position papers, presentations, and/or requirements
interpretations for HMTA issues.
- Participate in HMTA meetings, NASA Human Spaceflight Program
meetings, HHP meetings, and internal team meetings; develop and
deliver presentations as necessary.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- REQUIRED: The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree and at
least 20 years demonstrated experience working with NASA human
- DESIRED: Demonstrated experience in collaborating with
multi-disciplined teams is desired. Experience with human systems
requirements/verification in human spaceflight vehicle design
and/or with NASA Technical Authority, as well as experience in NASA
spaceflight operations is desired.SKILLS/TRAINING
- REQUIRED: The candidate shall have demonstrated the ability to
work independently and shall possess strong verbal and written
communication skills including delivering presentations and writing
reports. Verbal skills also include the capability to speak up in
Program meetings. The candidate shall also have the capability to
listen to Subject Matter Experts (SME), and to understand enough to
represent their expertise, but not to serve as the expert to the
exclusion of the SME. Ability to work in Microsoft Office's suite
of tools, especially SharePoint and Excel, is required.
- DESIRED: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is
desired. Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., NASA-STD-3001)
for human space flight is desired. Candidate should have the
ability to effectively interact with customers at all levels.
Training in medical operations mission support is ideal.Scheduled
