The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for the
credentialing process for clinical providers to assure compliance
with institutional, state, federal, legal and regulatory
requirements, to include but not limited to The Joint Commission
(TJC), CMS and NCQA. In addition this position will be responsible
for assistance with data management, including auditing and
integration of the electronic application process into
institutional processes for credentialing of providers.
- Responsible for credentialing activities related to any
required provider according to institutional and regulatory
standards by conducting primary source verification and outside
- This includes the data entry portion of the process. This
includes but is not limited to initial credentialing,
recredentialing, additional privileges, modification of privileges,
change of departmental assignment or other
- This includes responsibility for data entry of all information
in practitioner's profile/database record related to credentialing
- Provides administrative support for assigned Medical Staff
Committees of the Medical Staff.
Serves as Departmental Liaison
- Serves as MSCS liaison to administrative support staff and
providers associated with clinical department for coordinating
credentialing of potential candidates/recredentialing for clinical
staff regarding membership and/or privileges.
- Effectively coordinate, integrate and communicate information
and services within the department and with other departments such
as practitioner privileges, privileging criteria and other content
surrounding credentialing activities.
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Associate's Degree or higher.
Required: Three years office experience in medical staff
services or credentialing position with working knowledge of
credentialing, privileging and/or licensing processes.
