Job Summary

We are searching for a Director of Health Tech Management -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will effectively direct a large multi-disciplinary biomedical engineering team while setting strategy for the Health Technology Management (HTM) department to advance the way we provide medical care to our patients. This role strategically plans, directs, and develops all areas of HTM and provides leadership to meet operational and fiscal objectives for all services provided by the department with compliance to codes and regulations to ensure the safe and efficient operations of patient-care equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Implements scheduled and on-demand services to meet the organizations programmatic goals in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and with professional code
  • Restructures processes to coincide with strategic initiatives as they specifically relate to departmental goals by facilitating, coordinating, and participating in complex cross-functional teams.
  • Chairs and directs various HTM committees in evaluating and setting standards for medical devices utilized in the organization
  • Directs the activities in the department related to the hiring, professional development, general competency, promotion, performance appraisal and disciplinary action of the management team and staff
  • Proactively collaborates with clinical, nursing, and information technology teams to ensure the HTM program continuously enhances services for the system
  • Coordinates device related incident investigations in alignment with Legal, Risk and Quality Departments
  • Establishes and maintains a clear set of requirements for ongoing operation, maintenance, and support for both the networked and non-networked systems within the hospital system

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, clinical engineering, health information technology, computer science, math, or electrical / mechanical or related engineering specialty from an accredited university required
  • Master's degree in biomedical engineering, clinical engineering, or electrical engineering from an accredited university preferred
  • PE license from the National Society of Professional Engineers preferred
  • 5 years' experience working in a healthcare environment and knowledge of healthcare delivery system models required
  • 3 years progressive supervisory experience in managing a patient care equipment program in a hospital setting required
