Job Overview

Connectivity's Supplier Development Teams find and develop suppliers to support the strategic sourcing organization in driving incremental performance in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They teach new suppliers on how to work with TE (portal access, e-procurement tool usage, TE procedures, etc.). They extend TE Operational Advantage into the supply base to generate continuous improvement in the extended value stream, deliver incremental improvements through supplier development lead projects and achieve improvement targets specific for supplier development. They also help drive selection and development of the best total cost supply option in the region where the commodity or service is consumed. They keep abreast of emerging market options and inform the broader procurement organization of trends and new supply options.

The Supplier Development Analyst role is a position which focuses on supplier readiness, engagement, and continuous performance improvement (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Flexibility, Processes) It is a position to build relationships with the supplier to become an invested team member to meet our customers' needs.This position will teach new suppliers on how to work with TE (portal access, e-procurement tool usage, TE procedures, etc). The Supplier Development Analyst will extend TE Operational Advantage into the supply base to generate continuous improvement in the extended value stream, deliver incremental improvements through supplier development lead projects, and achieve improvement targets specific for supplier development.

As Supplier Development Analyst, your responsibilities would include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop suppliers to support the strategic sourcing organization in driving incremental performance improvements in supplier quality, delivery, price and service.
  • Coach new suppliers on how to work within TE guidelines (portal access, e-procurement tool usage, TE procedures, etc.).
  • Extend TE Operational Advantage into the supply base to generate continuous improvement in the extended value stream, deliver incremental improvements through supplier development lead projects and achieve improvement targets specific for supplier development.
  • Work with Commodity Managers and Strategic Sourcing Specialists to inform the broader procurement organization of trends and new supply options.
  • Perform on-site assessments to audit supplier processes and verify supplier performance
  • Work as support for various TE manufacturing sites, focusing on how supplied material impacts potential look across processes and materials
  • Help mitigate risk of supplier for on-going and new business impact
  • Supplier preparation to support New Program Introduction (NPI), Advanced Development with TE Engineering and Supplier migration activity to strategic suppliers
  • Monitor and react to key supplier performance metrics
  • Regularly engage with assigned Top Impact Suppliers to review supplier performance and drive improvement
  • Address supplier development needs for quality requirements such as problem-solving, failure mode analysis, value stream mapping

What your background should look like:

  • Motivated individual with the ability to learn quickly and work in a self-directed work environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to take ownership of actions and lead to closure
  • A clear communicator who can speak and present confidently to a diverse audience, including senior management
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional environment and with global team members
  • Fluent in English; reading, writing, and speaking English language
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business or other related disciplines.
  • Proficient with MS-Office products, SAP background is a plus
  • Experience with stamping, molding, or machining preferred
  • Certified AS9100 Auditor or similar Quality Management System
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), 8D, 5 why, Fishbone, Practical Problem Solving, and experience with Minitab
  • Willingness to travel and interact proactively with supplier and TE manufacturing site personnel.
