Job Description:
An employer is looking for a Sr Network Engineer to sit remote
in the Houston, TX area. This person will be joining the Network
Services Operations team where they will join other engineers to
help with day to day maintenance and support of the enterprise
network and datacenter environment. This person will assist in
handling any tier II and tier III escalations related to network
issues where they will look at the issues at hand, vet them from an
engineering perspective and then handle accordingly. He/she will
provide continuous research, assessment, recommendations, and
implementation of new technologies as needed by the Sysco
organization. Lastly, this person will develop and recommend
strategies for network growth, Wi-fi, Load Balancing, security, and
other network enhancements by maximizing the functionality of
routers, switches, Wireless, and firewalls.
Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree
Experience moving from on prem to cloud
Experience configuring and supporting Cisco Call Manager (CUCM
versions 8.x and up)
7+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise level
environment
Extensive experience with complex routing and switching using Cisco
Nexus Switches (7K and 9K) and Cisco ASR routers
Experience with the design, management and support of various Cloud
environments such as Azure, AWS, and GCP
Experience with F5 load balancers
Experience with Cisco ASA and Checkpoint firewalls
Experience with routing (EIGRP, BGP, etc.) and redundant protocols
(VRBP, HSRP, etc.)
