Our business is to protect public health and the environment while providing superior customer service. We seek a candidate with a history in call center operations and proven excellent customer service skills. This individual will be responsible for providing high levels of customer internally and externally support through email, phone, and other channels.--Responsibilities:--

  • Research, analyze and resolve internal/external customers' concerns and inquiries. --
  • Prepare update and ensure completion of customer concerns from 311 and any other requested report. --
  • Provide support to other operational units. --
  • Maintain and monitor accurate records. --
  • Assist in training and testing in various areas. --
  • Provide feedback to management concerning possible problems or areas of improvement.--
  • Perform other related duties as requested.----WORKING CONDITIONSThe position is physically comfortable most of the time with occasional periods of stooping, and/or light lifting of materials of up to 10 pounds.This is a Department of Houston Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier II Level.Job Requirements:MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSRequires a High School diploma or a GED certificate.--MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSSix (6) months of experience as a Laborer or Utility Worker or other related work is required.MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTSA valid Driver's License is required and Compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving.Depending on the type of equipment to be operated, a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required.**Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.**SELECTION/SKILLS TESTS REQUIRED:-- NoneHowever, the department may administer a skill assessment evaluation.SAFETY IMPACT POSITION:-- Yes-- -- ----If yes, this position is subject to random drug testing and if a promotional position, candidate must pass an assignment drug test.SALARY INFORMATION-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- ----Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification.--Pay Grade 12APPLICATION PROCEDURESOnly online applications will be accepted for this City of Houston job and must be received by the Human Resources Department during active posting period.
