has strong mixed methods skills, is responsible for working
independently with all other groups across the company to create
client solutions that meld business objectives, design principles,
and continuous behavioral science research into a compelling user
experience. Additionally, this role helps to shape the growth of
the Behavioral Science practice area by creating new offerings,
supporting sales and marketing efforts, training and mentoring
other team members, and representing the company in the wider
research community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute all research strategies outlined in project SOWs as a
project lead, primary client contact for Behavioral Science
practice, best practice advocate; drive projects through the entire
user-centered design (UCD) lifecycle, from user needs
identification to deployment
- Lead multiple projects at a time through the UCD lifecycle

- Serve as oversight for projects and client relationships
executed by more junior members of the Behavioral Science team

- Support and supervise production of comprehensive Behavioral
Science documentation (Discovery reports, usability reports,
Digital Visioning workshop materials, etc.)
- Develop collaborations with Design, Digital Transformation
Strategy, Data Science, Engineering, Project Management
Organization, and Sales outside of client projects in order to
improve process efficiency, develop skills and grow ChaiOne's
offerings -
- Support business development by creating project estimates,
writing proposals, meeting with clients -
- Work independently within highly effective Experience team to
deliver any and all Behavioral Science deliverables offered by
ChaiOne:
- On time
- Within project parameters
- Up to ChaiOne standards
- To internal and external stakeholder satisfaction
- Targeting repeat customer outcomes -
- Create and maintain rapport with internal and external project
teams, including stakeholders, as well as research participants;
effectively communicate with all parties -
- Work within Experience team leaders, Engineering, Engagement
Management (including Business Analysts), Digital Strategy, and
Sales teams to support software development processes with guidance
that has been documented, communicated, and trained:
- Support and supervise more junior team members across all
activities related to creation of requirements backlog and roll out
activities such as training and communication -
- Demonstrate Subject Matter Expertise across multiple industries
and effectively communicate and justify behavioral science findings
and recommendations on all project data in all communication to
internal and external project stakeholders and thought leaders

- Advocate user experience, Design Thinking to internal and
external stakeholders -
- Support Behavioral Science practice area by: -
- Training, mentoring interns and more junior team members
- Screening and interviewing Behavioral Science candidates
- Engaging with a candidate network -
- Developing, fostering relationships with external institutions,
professional communities
- Lead Behavioral Science practice area operations and growth
(e.g., conduct candidate interviews; revise and/or document new and
existing Behavioral Science offerings; streamline, improve, create
processes and procedures to improve quality and quantity of work
produced)
- Support ChaiOne growth through contributing to development of
new offerings to meet ever changing client needs -
- Demonstrate active professional presence in the user experience
(or related) communities by attending/hosting/speaking at events,
creating thought leadership content, maintaining membership in
related organizations -
- Must be willing and available to travel and work on local
client sites as required
- Must be willing and available to travel nationally and
internationally for client projects as required, up to 25% annually

- At least a MA/MS in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction,
Psychology, or related field. PhD strongly preferred -
- 5-7 years of related work experience in projects that involve
collaboration with design, data science, digital transformation
strategy, and engineering teams. Experience working within agile
delivery framework -
- Experience conducting research with digital and non-digital
products. Experience conducting research with enterprise, B2B, and
B2C companies
- Previous experience working within an agency or consulting firm
is a major plus
- Demonstrated successful use, supervision and mentoring of:
- Mixed methods to answer research questions -
- Quantitative and qualitative research and analysis methods
- Standard user experience activities and outputs such as
workshops, experience maps, personas, task flows, usability testing
and metrics, user analytics, baselines, benchmarks, etc. -
- Demonstrated application of research insights to a business
problem that had an impact -
- Strong competence in: -
- Writing research reports
- Strong written and communication skills -
- Strong competence in Excel, especially:
- Tables -
- Formulas
- Graphs -
- Absolute and relative references -
- Good communication and consulting skills including but not
limited to: -
- Active and effective listening -

- Negotiating -
- Navigating conflict situations
- Experience training, mentoring, coaching junior behavioral
scientists -
- Ability to recognize business development opportunities during
client engagements -
- Experience advocating for and educating stakeholders about the
value of Design Thinking, user-centered design, agile development
and similar topics
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently as well as
collaboratively - Travel This role will require occasional travel
to client sites (up to 25%).
