Job DescriptionPatient Account Representative Credit BalancesPay Rate: $17.50-20.00 /hr.Duration: Long Term Temp Resource Staffing is seeking a Patient Care Representative assist with credit balances and refunds, payment transfers, voucher purchases, post refunds using Epic for a major healthcare system in Houston. Patient Account Representative Responsibilities:

• Reviews refund requests and credit balances received and takes the appropriate action to resolve the account credit.
• Request print-out of archived accounts and maintains complete and accurate system documentation.
• Prepare refund voucher for patient overpayments and/or insurance overpayments.
• Assists in the completion of the Medicare Credit Balance Report.
• Reviews accounts to determine if payments and/or adjustments were applied correctly and takes the appropriate.
• Apply correct transaction code on appropriate liability bucket.
• Transfer patient payments from credit balance accounts to outstanding debit guarantor accounts.
• Ensures small balance write offs are reversed before applying ESCHEAT adjustment or Refund.
• Adds insurance coverage when appropriate and moves undistributed payments to liability bucket.
• Posts refund date entry upon receipt of weekly check register by Accounts Payable and indicates checks mailed to payee. What You Will Need:
  • Experience using Epic
  • Call center or strong customer service skills
  • Data entry
  • Experience with vouchers, credit balances and posting refunds
