Job DescriptionPatient Access Representative – ASAP NeedHours: 2:45 pm – 11:15 pmPay Rate: $18.40 - $19.00/hr. Location: Kelly Street We have partnered with a major health care provider located on Kelly Street in Houston. We are seeking located seeking a Patient Account Representative (Billing Follow Up) for the 2nd shift. This position is temp to hire, and the hours are Monday-Friday 2:45 pm to 11:15pm. In this role you will be required to work every other weekend, stand for long periods of time, and work independently in a team environment.Patient Access Representative Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing payor websites to get information on eligibility, EOBs, claim status and on-line inquiries. Avidity, Aetna, Cigna, Human, WellCare, Tricare, United Healthcare, Amerigroup, Molina and other payors.
  • Work queues are worked daily and monitoring follow-up activities. Updating the system with any follow-up activities that are being worked or completed.
  • Reporting payment variances, claim rejections, payor reimbursement issues, or other system issues immediately to management. Completing research daily on each account which includes reviewing EOBS, Ras and correspondence from payors that relate to account activities.
  • Monitoring account reimbursement daily.
  • Updating patient demographic, insurance and other patient information.
  • Apply appropriate adjustment on accounts which require additional contractual adjustments or a write-off.
  • Reviewing patient accounts to determine the next collection action, whether negotiation payment arrangement or discount, proceeding with legal action, or conducting additional insurance follow-up.
  • Research denied claims and determines the appropriate course of action to resolve account balances through EPIC Account work queues.
  • Identifies issues that are creating denials and works with associated departments to prevent future denials.What You Will Need:
    • Able to work every other weekend
    • Previous patient account representative experience, ER a huge plus
    • EPIC
    • EOBs, claims, eligibility
    • Understanding of major insurance carriers
    • Heavy customer service experience.
    • Self-Motivated, flexible, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Able to work independently while being accountable to the team.
    • Registration/Patient Access experience a plus.
    • Able to work every other weekend and holidays when scheduled.
    • Experience handling money.
    • Must work every other weekend and any holiday scheduled.
    • Long periods of standing and walking.
    • Requires close face to face contact with patients in our emergency room.Why Apply?
