Position Summary

Work with NASA Engineering teams, Commercial Crew Program Chief Engineers, and Commercial Crew Systems Engineering to manage the assessment of certification products.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • As part of the larger team, review products such as Test and Verification plans and Qualification Test Reports.
  • Facilitate review of certification products such as qualification test reports and identify key stakeholders and technical expert reviewers
  • Review and approve verification approvals to make sure that all SMC-S-016 (Space and Missile Systems Center Standard, Test Requirements for Launch, Upper-Stage and Space Vehicles) testing requirements have been met.
  • Support T&V Forums, Product Assurance Activity (PAA) Forums, Engineering Review Boards, and V&V Panels.
  • Work in a team environment and report to the team lead and Chief Engineer to provide status on progress and issues and for support.
  • Facilitate across various stakeholders to achieve integration of both technical and program objectives.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer, the CCP Providers, and other NASA support contractors.
  • Perform other duties as required to support CCP Chief Engineer's Office.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:
    • BS degree in Engineering from an accredited school and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the field or in related area. Advanced degrees may be counted as experience.
    • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.
    • Knowledge of systems engineering principles and associated documentation.
    • Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.
    • Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision.
    • Experience working in a team environment.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
    • US citizen or Permanent Resident.
      REQUISITION PREFERENCES:
      • - -Working knowledge of NASA, JSC, Commercial Crew, and ISS standard practices and requirements including safety, fault tolerance, and unique disciplines.
      • Experience with the development of space systems requirements documents including Verification and Validation documents.
      • Experience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space hardware.
      • Experience with NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processes
      • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification.
      • Familiarity with NASA/JSC documentation databases and share point sites as well as typical systems engineering products
