Job Description - Senior Specialist SMS Quality (COM00518) Senior Specialist SMS Quality - COM00518 CenterPoint Energy is looking for Senior - SMS Quality Specialist to join our Safety and Technical Training Team , located - in Louisiana , Indiana, Ohio, Minnesota or Texas . - You will have the ability to: Measures and monitors conformance with operational and asset safety requirements to maximize public, asset, and employee safety and mitigate risks associated with installation, operation, and maintenance activities. Builds strong partnerships throughout the organization including the gas and electric business and other support departments.

    • Evaluates and confirms asset and process safety and operational risks and their mitigation plans. This also includes evaluating asset and process safety culture, gathering, and reviewing data to assess operational controls, supporting execution of quality assurance test plans, and confirming progress and completion of corrective action plans. -
      • Works collaboratively with team and subject matter experts to manage multiple complex and high priority assignments with long term view and high impact to company.
      • Monitors progress on key aspects of Quality Control and Quality Assurance, analyzes and thinks critically about content of documents and alignment of data while completing data review with attention to detail including accuracy and consistency, managing paper and electronic files in a structured format.
      • Reviews documentation for completeness with requirements in timely manner in communicating incident and risk related data across all levels of the organization.
      • Communicates in a timely fashion with other employees and departments, at various locations regarding data gathering, risk identification, safety concerns, and escalation of specific issues as necessary.
      • Facilitates quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts.
        • Supports continuous improvement projects within the electric and gas operations support organizations.
        • Measures the effectiveness of operational and asset safety risk management. -
        • Facilitates investigations and root cause analysis into process deficiencies and incidents encountered during asset installation, operations, and maintenance including the completion of investigation summaries.
        • Facilitates and oversees development and implementation of corrective actions to address underlying causation identified during incident investigations and root cause analyses.
        • Engages and maintains relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the company as the risk expert to identify and mitigate operational risks and represents CenterPoint Energy in industry groups and committees.
          - Your background includes:
          • Bachelor's degree -from an accredited college or university is required . Or in lieu of a degree 8 years of relevant work experience. Every two years of experience is equivalent to one year of education.
          • Minimum of five (5) -years of relevant work experience including regulatory/compliance, performance management, continuous improvement, audit, and field operations experience.
            A bonus to have:
            • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) current or achieved within 18 months of hire.
            • Utility industry knowledge and/or experience in -natural gas distribution system.
