Job Description - Network Architect (NERC) - REMOTE

Position :

Network and security Architect to join our client-facing professional services team with a focus on requirements gathering, architecture and design of new client solutions.

Job Description:

As part of our Solutions team, the architect is responsible for leading new client engagements, developing and implementing client solutions. The architect will work with clients to assess needs, document requirements and deploy a variety of hardware and software technologies to facilitate secure communications meeting client requirements. This includes routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs and supporting software such as Cisco Client.

The architect will enhance our reputation by accepting ownership for the design and implementation of secure and reliable communication meeting client performance expectations.

The architect will work directly with clients and project managers to collect business and technical requirements, design solutions, prepare change plans and execute changes that facilitate completion of project goals. Periodically the architect will assess the security of client networks, compliance with applicable regulations and make recommendations for improvement based on relevant frameworks and industry best practices.

The architect will coordinate with project managers to prioritize work and accomplish tasks within established project budgets and timelines. Other responsibilities include contributing to Statements of Work and working with vendors to resolve problems impeding the project.

Responsibilities:

The purpose for this role is to design and implement cost-effective solutions meeting client requirements for reliability, performance and data security. Key tasks include:

• Gather business objectives and translate into technical requirements
• Architect, design, and implement secure networks
• Assess and audit client network and security infrastructure, document findings, recommend best practice solutions, review findings with client
• Manage relationships within the project team, clients and relevant stakeholders
• Prepare quotes for hardware and software purchases
• Recommend software, training, tools and other options to improve the individual and team skill set
• Perform other related duties as assigned Engineer Skills & Competency Requirements:
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience architecting, designing, and implementing enterprise scale network and security solutions
    • Experience with complex routing designs, including designing and operating redistribution between different routing protocols.
    • Current Cisco CCNP certification (CCIE Preferred)
    • Prior experience working in a NERC regulated environment and general familiarity with the regulations
    • Technical Skills:
      
      
      • Cisco WAN routing solutions: Viptella SD WAN and MPLS
      • Cisco LAN/WAN platforms: Nexus, ACI and Catalyst solutions
      • Wireless: Cisco wireless and cellular solutions
      • Cisco Client and Client authentication
      • Security: Cisco ASA and FTD firewall platforms
