Reports To: Director
Job Goal:
Collaborate with stakeholders to define, address, and produce
business and training requirements. The Technical Documentation
Specialist will serve as the liaison between customers and our
development team for the Texas Education Exchange to collect,
clearly document, and communicate both technical and non-technical
information and training resources, ensuring that the delivered
solution satisfies business requirements.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's Degree
Experience
3 years of proven working experience in technical writing of
processes, systems requirements, and training documentation.
Special Knowledge and Skills
* Outstanding collaboration skills
* Strong computer, IT operations or software background
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including
the ability to communicate highly technical concepts to a
non-technical audience
* Solid critical thinking and analysis skills, including being able
to define the "What" and "How" of a situation and understand the
risks, rewards and opportunities presented to stakeholders
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
* Working knowledge of agile methodologies
* Working knowledge of AWS or Amazon tools
* Working knowledge of multiple documentation tools (e.g. Jira,
Confluences, Salesforce)
* Effectiveness in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
while collaborating across support, product development, and
marketing teams to define, manage, and prioritize tasks.
* Proven track record of prioritizing and contributing to multiple
projects simultaneously while ensuring technical accuracy and fact
checking, adherence to documentation standards, and a timely
delivery of all work products
Major Responsibilities:
* Research, write, and edit customer-facing content that encourages
customer service and inspires customer engagement by building trust
in the Texas Education Exchange experience.
* Work with Texas Education Exchange stakeholders to keep
up-to-date with rapidly expanding product features and understand
documentation needs and requirements to support customer support
excellence.
* Communicate, translate and simplify business requirements to
ensure buy-in from both internal and external customers.
* Work with the Texas Education Exchange stakeholders to maintain a
unified organizational voice.
* Ensure that all Texas Education Exchange documentation is in
compliance with any standards and branding guidelines
developed.
* Control access to documents, remove documents that are obsolete,
and maintain document version integrity.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors/ Mental Demands:
Frequent use of standard office equipment; prolonged sitting;
occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting;
repetitive hand motions (keyboarding and use of mouse); occasional
lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); may work prolonged and
irregular hours; work with frequent interruptions; maintain
emotional control under pressure.
