Job Description:

Summary/ObjectiveThe Vendor Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the creation, development and management of quality control and quality assurance related standards, audits and history for the company, as well as supporting quality design engineering representation in new product design and development.
Typical Work Duties / Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service by investigating and addressing customer issues and complaints relating to quality. - Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products. - Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams. - Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives. - Coordinate objectives with vendor production procedures in cooperation with other team members to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. - Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures. - Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within company. - Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes. - Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts. - Design, develop and implement quality control training programs. - Performing audits as needed to ensure product quality. - Addressing nonconformities from previous internal and external audits. - Conducting an effective review of the quality system with other team members. - Following-up on and closing pending preventive and corrective action requests. - Ensuring that organizational systems and training is in place and executed to meet the needs of the team. - Ensuring that documentation and design controls are appropriate for organization. - Assisting the team and provide all around Quality support as necessary. - Support the maintenance of design history of product development and evolution.

  • Proficient in technology (MS Office) and general office equipment.
  • SolidWorks or other CAD system.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients and engineering partners and valued supplier partners.
  • Effective communication, including speaking, writing and active listening.
  • Great planning, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Training on reporting, data analysis, spreadsheets, databases or presentation software is also an asset.11. Attention to Detail.
    TravelTravel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area, overnight and possible international travel may be required.
    Required Education and Experience1. Bachelor's degree in quality, industrial engineering or equivalent number of years of experience.2. Zero (0) to five (5) years of related experience with progressive and proven personal and educational development experience.3. Hands-on experience with engineering design and product validation a plus.4. Experience with API 6A and API 5215. Experience with ASME B-31.3 and BPVC preferred.6. Experience with OSHA 1910.1197. Ability to work independently while contributing to a fast-paced team.8. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.9. FEA modeling experience preferably with Solidworks Simulation software.10. Advanced level of proficiency with MS Office Suite of products.11. Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies a plus.
