MISSION STATEMENT The mission of The University of Texas M. D.
Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation,
and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient
care, research and prevention, and through education for
undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals,
employees and the public. SUMMARY Function Plans and schedules work
and processes according to standards to improve efficiency, quality
and productivity in work. Scope Minimizes total maintenance cost by
maximizing maintenance work force efficiency and productivity
through detailed planning and scheduling of maintenance work
orders. Essential Job Functions Administers work orders and
requests for service by receiving work orders and requests;
prioritizing work according to urgency and resource requirements
and completing appropriate order and request documentation through
CMMS software. Interviews work requestors, develops scope of work
to estimate the craft, labor hours, manpower, parts, materials,
equipment and special tools required to complete the job.
Coordinates work activities with internal departments with internal
departments, external entities and vendors dispatching work
assignments to Physical Plant Supervisors. Monitors and sustains
work progress by tracking work flow and crew progress; verifying
availability of parts and equipment; ensuring mandated inspections
are scheduled and completed and rescheduled related to activities
due to down time. Maintains liaisons with field supervisor and
other management regarding work execution, necessity of altering
schedules and manpower status. Maintains records and files for
reporting and analysis by preserving record and databases of work
schedule and completed. Follows up to verify completion of work and
related activities and analyzing cost for staff and equipment for
future planning efforts. Establishes short and long range plans by
analyzing resources and backlog. Other duties as assigned. CORE

or a journeyman's license in one trade. Three years experience in
construction requirements, maintenance, estimating, project
management or scheduling in a plant or large facility maintenance
environment. May substitute required education degree with
additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
