The role of Controller, ESG Reporting is being created to support the company's sustainability ambition by ensuring that the company is well positioned to regularly produce investor-grade ESG information. This position will lead the enterprise-wide efforts to:

• Establish and maintain a strong control environment for ESG Reporting
• Comply with upcoming ESG regulatory requirements (SEC, CSRD and ISSB)
  
  
  Day in the Life
  
  
  
  • Support key business stakeholders in transforming the ESG reporting process, leveraging experience and due diligence that LYB has developed around financial information to non-financial/ESG information.
  • Own/centralize external ESG reporting, connecting different domains (e.g. external reporting, internal control, internal audit) with knowledge of processes and controls to help deliver on LYB's ESG objectives and ensure that ERP (and other data management) systems properly configured to meet reporting requirements.
  • Support the external assurance process of ESG data
  • Defining ESG reporting policies to ensure that the upcoming regulatory reporting requirements are properly translated to LYB policies and procedures.
  • The (re)design of ESG data model(s) and reporting processes to meet ESG reporting requirements;
  • Building ESG into the financial closing process and driving initiatives to improve the reporting process through standardization and automation (e.g. robotic processing automation, automated workflows, reconciliations, matching, reporting, etc.).
  • Defining the data management & governance model for ESG reporting.
  • Build ESG reporting capabilities in the finance organization.
    
    
    You bring this value
    
    
    
    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Post graduate degree (in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Management or any other relevant studies) preferred
    • Typically requires 15 + years of relevant experience in industry or public accounting
    • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of industry experience in a similar role required
    • Accounting & financial reporting (IFRS and US GAAP)
    • External audit and internal controls (including SOX)
    • ESG reporting experience preferred (in accordance with GRI, TCFD, SASB, GHG Protocol, etc.)
    • Competencies required:

    • Regulatory (statutory) reporting
    • Data and analytics
    • Registered Chartered Accountant / Controller
    • Extensive knowledge of the finance (R2R) process
    • Strong affinity with mapping, analyzing and improving processes and interpreting regulations
    • Experience in ERP system implementations and reporting transformations (e.g., SAP ECC, SAP S/4 HANA, Oracle, BlackLine, Workiva, Enablon, etc.)
