The U.S. Insurance Engineered Risk practice offers providing first-party property coverage for both owner and contractor controlled project specific and annual covers for Contractor All Risk, Erection All Risk and Civil infrastructure occupancies. Working with a select group of wholesale and retail brokers, our experienced specialists tailor solutions to meet the unique needs of each client. Providing individual risk policies as well as products for niche classes, we deliver risk solutions effectively and responsively. -The successful canidate will work closely with Senior Vice President of the Engineered Risk Product Lines.Main areas of responsibility:

• Responsible for the development of the Engineered Risk business within their assigned territory. -
• Underwrite complex construction projects to properly determine capacity allocation, attachment point, terms and pricing to create a diverse and profitable book of business.
• Manages and develops producer and client relationships.
• Develops and executes a regional marketing plan aimed at retaining existing business and producing new business.
• Creates and foster a reputaion as an industry expert with peers and producers.
• Provide technical expertise to Sompo Internationals Global Risk Solution and Inland Marine product lines.
• Gather and evaluate industry trends and competitive intelligence.
• Participates in the development of the policy forms, premium rating plans and underwriting guidelines.
• Maintain files in an orderly manner consistent with company guidelines.
• Ability to work with others within a team and contribute to the development of others.
• Ability to attend industry function.
• Ability to travel nationally 25% of the timeQualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • 3-6 years of Engineered Risk/Construction Property underwriting experience
  • Established relationships with regional retail & wholesale brokers
  • Established relationships with national facultative reinsurers
  • Experience in successfully underwriting, quoting, and binding profitable business
  • Bachelor's Degree with an Engineering discipline preferred
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft office applicationsSalary Range: $150,000- $170,,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.At Sompo International, we recognize that the talent, skills, and commitment of our employees drive our success.
