Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract. As an

systems engineering andmultidisciplinary technical
analysis/modeling support to the Gateway Program.

**International travel may be required. Straight time overtime,
9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), and/or 1 day of

Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the Communications and
Tracking Sub-Systems of the Gateway Level 2 Sub-Systems.
- Write Radio Frequency communication subsystem level Interface
Requirements Documents (IRD), Verification Requirements (VRs),
Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for spacecrafts. Review IRDs,
ICDs and component level requirements (Transponders, Transceivers,
- Review Link and network layer protocols implemented on
communication systems based on CCSDS recommendations.
- Determine the performance of Radio Frequency (RF) communication
links and create link budgets using analytical methods or by
applying analysis to simulation tools.
- Actively participate and contribute to Systems Requirements
Reviews (SRR), Preliminary & Critical Design Reviews.
- Component level reviews and Technical Interchange
- Perform Radio Frequency interference & compatibility analysis,
Power Flux Density analysis, Spectral analysis for Space based
- Assist and support NASA RF communication sub system manager
with reviews, meetings and be the technical Point of Contact.
- Represent JSC and interface with other NASA centers and federal
- Perform analysis using software such as MATLAB, Simulink, and

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience applying analytical skills in RF
- Experience with communication systems such as digital
modulation, spread spectrum signals and/or signal detection.
- College level RF Communications coursework.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to successfully complete a
U.S. government background investigation.
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or RF
engineering from an accredited engineering school anda minimum of 2
- 5 years of experience
- Experience with NASA processes or working in another aerospace
or defense environment
