Position Summary

We are seeking someone with a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to owning their work, and providing superior quality. You must successfully pass a sewing test administered during the interview process to demonstrate your capabilities.
Someone in this role would typically have a High School diploma and one (1) year of experience.
**This role requires wearing PPE on a regular basis, and may require overtime or non-standard work hours as needed to meet deadlines.**

Duties & Responsibilities

Some of your major responsibilities will include:

--- Completing machine set-ups for various types of material, including adjusting tension.
--- Performing sewing operations on industrial or commercial sewing machines and by hand as needed.
--- Performing cementing, cutting, and minor assembly operations.
--- Working with chemicals (i.e. adhesives and solvents) and Fabrics (fiberglass and ceramic).
--- Following written and verbal detailed instruction and read patterns/drawings.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

--- Experience operating softgoods fabrication equipment including sewing machines, heat sealer, rivet press, power tools and/or hand tools.

PREFERRED

--- Experience in an aerospace or industrial softgoods lab environment with emphasis on softgoods design and fabrication.
--- High school diploma or equivalent.
--- One (1) + years of experience in an aerospace or industrial environment.
--- Experience reading, understanding, and creating fabrication drawings and sketches.
--- Experience with fabrication processes for prototyping and flight softgoods products.
--- Experience with NASA/JSC, aerospace industry softgoods design and development.
--- Experience creating patterns and developing mockups for verifying form, fit and function of softgoods articles.
--- Experience packing softgoods, such as parachutes or other deployable items.
