SUMMARY OF COMPANYSouthwest Shipyard, LP provides gas freeing and cleaning services, steaming, and flaring services, Barge and boat repair, Surface preparation and painting, water treatment and new construction services to the commercial and government marine industry. Southwest Shipyard owns and operates four (4) shipyards in South Texas with direct deep-water access to the Gulf of Mexico. JOB SUMMARYThis position is primarily responsible for sourcing candidates through various channels, planning interview and selection procedures and hosting or participating in career events. To be successful in this role, you should be able to develop long-term recruiting strategies and nurture trusting relationships with potential hires. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the full cycle process of recruiting to include candidate marketing, sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, and selecting.
  • Develop and implement creative and innovative sourcing strategies and techniques to build a pipeline of qualified candidates.
  • Facilitate and monitor the pre-boarding process to ensure that key deadlines are met, and all appropriate tasks are completed timely and thoroughly, including offer letter, drug testing, background check, certification/licensure (if applicable) reference, and employment verification checks. Follows up with candidates when there are challenges in scheduling drug tests, requests for adverse actions, references, etc. Communicates with new hires and hiring managers that new hires are cleared to start.
  • Work closely with managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company's hiring needs for every role, and to meet competitive hiring goals and expectations.
  • Developing a relationship with recruiting agencies to source candidates.
  • Manage the overall interview, selection, and closing process by screening candidates by reviewing resumes and job applications and performing phone screenings.
  • Coordinate an onboarding program to welcome employees.
  • Research talent acquisition trends to improve the process.
  • Representing the organization at job fairs, networking events, and recruiting-related projects.
  • Additional duties as required. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
    • Associate degree in Human resources, Business Administration, or other business-related field of study or equivalent work experience.
    • 3+ years working with Talent Acquisition and HR functions with Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local employment laws, regulations, rules, and practices.
    • Must be bilingual. (English/Spanish)
    • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, conditional formatting, data tables, etc.).
    • Experience with online candidate management systems to drive recruitment effectiveness.
    • Ability to multitask while maintaining confidentiality, high attention to detail, and accuracy in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Excellent analytical problem-solving capabilities: ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
    • Able to exercise a high degree of confidentiality.
    • Highly energetic and self-starter.
    • Thoughtful decision-making, problem-resolution, and creative thinking skills are a must. PHYSICAL / MENTAL REQUIREMENTSThe employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.       • Walking, stepping, climbing, or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another.

      • Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands, and back in the performance of work.
      • This position operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The Company expects and requires all employees to observe and fulfill all safety responsibilities as outlined in workplace safety training and actively work toward maintaining a safe workplace. Failure to do so can result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Regular attendance and punctuality are required of all employees.
