Assistant Shop Foreman:The Service Department at Chastang Ford is growing and we need more great people for our amazing team. Our Assistant Shop Foreman is often the Face of the Service Department and plays one of the most critical roles in the dealership. The Assistant Shop Foreman is an hourly employee who greets customers, transports customers and vehicles from home or business locations to the shop, and keeps the lot and shop orderly and clean. The Assistant Shop Foreman is an hourly non-exempt/salaried exempt position that reports to the Shop Foreman.-- The Assistant Shop Foreman assists the Shop Foreman ensuring a safe and clean work environment.Chastang Ford-"The Ford Truck Experts"THE COMPANY:The Chastang Family has been involved in the automotive industry since 1933. We aim to create a great place to work, learn and grow.Advancement OpportunitiesTransparency with employees and managementFreedom to make decisionsProviding work-life balanceBusiness is growingTHE POSITION:--We are to maintain the trust of our customers.-- We should make sure that while their vehicle is in our shop, we are careful to maintain the integrity of that vehicle.-- Make sure that doors are locked, windows rolled up, and parked in a secure area.Ensure the parking lot remains organized--Assist technicians with parking and bringing vehicles in for service.Ensure vehicles on the service drive are parked promptly.Bring vehicles from the parking lot to the service drive for customer delivery.Assist with pick-up and delivery of customer vehicles to and from the facilityEnsure the shop and parking lot remain cleanQUALIFICATIONS:Ability to understand and follow directionsSkill and ability to organize and prioritize work Be able to perform calmly when under pressureAbility to effectively establish rapport, present information, and respond to questions from managers and team members.Ability to solve practical problemsExcellent oral communication skills are required.-- Must be able to operate a forkliftPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be able to drive and operate a motor vehicle.Must be able to hear and speak clearly to communicate with others. Must be able to ascend and descend a step ladder.Must be able to stand, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time.Must be able to regularly lift and exert up to 50 pounds of force in order to carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.Must be able to climb into and out of medium-duty trucksMust be able to perform job functions outside when it rainsWORKING CONDITIONS:The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and organized individual.
