Job Description:
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provide occupational therapy
treatment, instruction, and other related activities to patients as
assigned by the attending Occupational Therapist and in strict
compliance with the established Plan of Care and per the
supervision requirements mandated by state law or payor
regulations, whichever is more stringent)ESSENTIAL JOB
FUNCTIONS:Provide patient treatment, instruction, and other related
services following the Occupational Therapist's evaluation and
establishment of the patient's plan of careReport all significant
outcomes of patient treatments to the Occupational Therapist for
intervention and/or plan of care revisionMaintain necessary
documentation including daily patient progress notes, home/exercise
instructions, and any other support entries allowed by State
statuteDocument the name of the supervising Occupational Therapist
per patient as required by State statuteReport all patient care
activities performed requiring program modification immediately to
the Occupational TherapistAssist with and/or carry out routine
cleaning, maintenance, and support operations of the clinic's
physical plant, patient care equipment, and supplies in accordance
with regulatory standards and EHS policies and proceduresCarry out
EHS duties as designated by the Director of Clinical ServicesComply
with the Facility's Comprehensive Compliance Plan (CCP) which
includes but is not limited to: Business & Clinical Operations,
Environmental Health & Safety, HIPAA, Human Resources and Code of
Conduct as well as all facility policies and procedures and
educational requirements associated the CCPComply with all local,
state and federal regulations training and instruction requirements
as well as any other standards that govern healthcare services
provisionPerform other duties as assigned as permitted by law &

Kindness.QUALIFICATIONS:Graduate of an associate degree/two-year
Occupational Therapist Assistant Program approved by the Commission
for the Accreditation of Occupational Therapist Assistant
EducationLicensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in TexasA
person who demonstrates the physical and mental capabilities
(practical &/or written, post-training competency test) to
perform the duties required of the positionA person who can meet
the physical demand level of the positionEXPERIENCE:Preferred- One
(1) year working with pediatrics (birth-21), but will consider
recent graduatePHYSICAL DEMAND CAPACITY:Consistent with published
industry PDC norms or minimally:Requires manual dexterity and
general strength and enduranceLifting routinely loads of 5-35
pounds fromFloor to waistWaist to shoulderShoulder to
overheadCarrying loads of 5-10# for 40-50'Pushing loads of 5-150#
on casters, runners, or pulleysSustaining a grip for 1-2 minutes of
40-50#Guarding a "lift load" routinely of 120-140#EXPOSURE
DETERMINATION:Has the potential for Hazardous Substance Exposure
due to work dutiesHas the potential for Bloodborne Pathogen
Exposure due to work dutiesHIPAA STATUS:Has been determined as
eligible for access to/use of PHI & EPHI based on work duties and
responsibilities in compliance with 'minimal necessary'
standards
