POSITION OVERVIEW The Senior Analyst, Commercial Operations, will work within the Commercial Operations team to develop and maintain a smooth and efficient vessel schedule in a dynamic operational environment. The highly cross-functional role is pivotal for the commercial team. The ideal candidate works with the Terminal departments to facilitate inventory management, identify schedule-driven risks and independently develop plans for any solutions or mitigating actions. The Senior Analyst will ensure proper, accurate and timely evaluation of cargo nominations and scheduling requests and drive the cross-functional execution thereof. The contractual requirements related to vessels calling at both of Cheniere's LNG facilities and Cheniere's Commercial goals are to be met while maintaining compliance with all Cheniere's values and high safety related standards. KNOWLEDGE The successful candidate must possess a commercial mindset and additionally must have practical knowledge of dynamic schedule development and terminal/marine operations. Detailed knowledge of Sale and Purchase Agreements' contractual language, especially demurrage and laytime provisions and the terminology associated with commercial commodities is required. The successful candidate must also be knowledgeable in the areas of scheduling, shipping, cargo transfer, and applicable Coast Guard and marine regulations. Knowledge of scenario analysis as it relates to assessment of schedule risk is required, and a working practical knowledge of operations within an LNG facility is preferred, but not required. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Primary duty is to proactively analyze, prepare, verify and continuously update real-time cargo schedules and timely communicate identified risk and changes within the commercial team and to all relevant parties across multiple facilities and business groups. * Gather and consolidate information on operational constraints and risks for vessels, terminal and facilitate the synthesis of the information in line with the contractual and commercial obligations. * Coordinate and proactively engage with the Marine and Production Engineering teams to monitor and manage projected inventory levels, outage planning and berth utilization. * Stay up to date in real time with estimated times of arrival for vessels and all cargo schedule changes. * Assist commercial managers in the evaluation of schedule changes and scenarios. * Reliably deliver a schedule which minimizes both operational and commercial delivery risks. * Creation, preparation and distribution of daily reports and communications to enable and drive accurate real time decisions making by the commercial team. * Acquire and evaluate feedback within the commercial group and the terminal on schedule improvements to increase the schedule efficiency and resilience. * Coordination of any schedule changes on a daily basis. * Update and maintain relevant commercial reporting tools and reporting systems. QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS) * Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree required, Maritime or Business preferred. * Experience: 5+ years experience working in a commercial or operational capacity in the energy commodities industry. LNG experience is preferred but not required. * Skills: * Organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple activities and programs in a timely manner and with a high degree of accuracy. * Strong problem solving and analytical skills. * Ability to independently identify and address and, if needed, escalate critical issues. * Ability to work effectively on short notice and off hours. * Energetic; adeptly work under pressure. * Knowledge and experience with contracts related to energy services, and commodity trading, preferably with LNG Sales and Purchase Agreements (SPAs). * Strong and effective communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal), also with individuals and groups from different disciplines. * Competent with using computers, particularly in everyday use of standard office applications. Advanced Excel skills and exposure to other scheduling systems are desired. DIRECT REPORTS None FREEDOM TO ACT Operates independently within approved guidelines, and with minimum supervision. Delivers pertinent information in a timely manner to management. WORK CONDITIONS * Job is performed in a typical office environment and at times is subject to time pressures and constraints. * Occasionally, work may have to be performed from home after normal work hours or on weekends. * Frequent travel to the Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi terminal is required.
