We are committed to creating more renewable solutions for the world and are offering comprehensive compensation packages to our employees leading the drive to meet company goals.Job DescriptionReporting to the Head of Engineering and Construction, the Head of Construction is responsible for leading the Execution Construction Management team and will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive the competitive advantage of the Construction teamJob SummaryReporting to the Head of Engineering and Construction, the Head of Construction is responsible for leading the Execution Construction Management team and will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive the competitive advantage of the Construction teamResponsibilities/DutiesMonitor progress to ensure the project execution is on schedule and within quality and cost estimates and any change management processes are well understood and followedAlign with the integrated project team structure to support project execution, to internally manage and deliver project management and construction activities and reportingCoordinate, oversee and manage the integrated project delivery team, site staff, contractors and physical resources (internal and external) to achieve targetsEstablish appropriate risk management, contract management and business systems.Provide regular reports to the Director Global Projects within FFI on the project execution plans and any variances for evaluationEstablish, maintain and control construction budget and cost control and construction progress in accordance with scheduleDevelop the project execution plan (PEP) and with the engineers, design the construction schedule, contracting strategy and work through the detailed planning for commissioning and operational readinessUnderstand all infrastructure constraints and seek out and implement faster and better ways to deliver the projectWork with site-based teams to identify areas with highest needs for improvement and explore the broader market for technically innovative solutionsDrive a culture of innovation that advances best-in-class EPC costs and maximizes plant production and minimizes energy costOversee full construction cycle for utility-scale solar PV and energy storage projectsEffectively integrate plant design, cost estimating, and technology selection to optimize EPC costs and project performance; work closely with the Development team to ensure project development decisions integrate and drive down EPC costsRequired Qualifications A minimum of a bachelor's degree OR at least 10 years of Construction equivalent experience is required. Degree disciplines in Engineering or Construction Management are preferred.A current, valid US driver's license is required.Experience in delivering major resource or energy construction projectsProven track record in successful construction leadership of large-scale capital projects in resources or energy. Experience within the solar industry is a must.Direct experience in managing external consultants and contractorsAbility to create and articulate the corporate vision influencing organizational values, individual and group goals and management systemsConduct regular Reliability, Accessibility, Maintainability, Buildability and Operability Reviews and provide feedback to engineering/study teamsCapacity to delegate tasks and responsibilities to subordinates and monitor progress in a multi-discipline and cohesive team environmentAn ability to quickly get across the detail, when required, to develop understanding on particular issuesA proven track record for consistently accomplishing project execution tasks that engenders trust with the executiveA quick learner, who is adaptable and has capacity to manage in dynamic and ambiguous environmentEffective written and verbal communication skills in individual and group situations.Ability to proactively develop effective working relationships at all levels of the business and demonstrated track record of working collegiately with the engineering and executive teamsJob posting end date:28-01-2022Full time
