We are seeking a Production / Packaging Maintenance Mechanic in Highlands, TX. Maintenance Mechanic Job Summary Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and other facilities equipment. The ideal candidate will have mechanical experience and/or production machinery experience, as well as attention to detail and safety safety procedures. Benefits offered to the Maintenance Mechanic LINK offers the following immediate benefits to all our staff: Essential StaffCARE Benefit Plan --- Provides group minimum essential coverage health benefits; Includes screening, counseling, and vaccines Fixed Indemnity Medical --- Includes physician visits, hospital visits, and prescriptions Vision Plan Dental Plan Short Term Disability Term Life Full-time and Part-time positions Flexible Schedules Referral Program Essential Job Functions --- Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment, and facilities in the processing & packaging departments --- Diagnose mechanical problems, provide quick & innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving --- Operate a grinder, saws, and all other machine shop tools --- Setup, take down, and relocation of Process and Packaging equipment --- Frequently modify packaging & process equipment for new products --- Perform preventative maintenance, and safety inspection --- Provide solution to routine or unique equipment problems --- Promptly respond to equipment related issues with customer-oriented manner --- Diagnose and repair electrical problems to include process instrumentation/control systems, 120-480 volt systems, variable speed drives, and PLC related issues (primarily Allen Bradley but some Siemens systems may also be included) --- Independently identify and repair equipment issues within assigned area with minimal supervision. (Ordering of parts through maintenance planner or supervisor and planning/scheduling of identified work on down days) Requirements --- Long periods of standing is a requirement of the position. --- Working in non-temperature and temperature-controlled environments. --- Possibility of working around high noise levels, depending on location. --- Must be able to work overtime when necessary. Qualifications --- Mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment --- Possess strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills --- Good knowledge of preventative maintenance programs --- Must be flexible to work Shift Work (days, afternoons, nights) --- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with lots of changes --- Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures --- Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management software---s an asset --- Must pay attention to details with a customer service attitude --- Strong team player with excellent problem solving skills Physical Demand and Work Conditions: A high volume of walking, sitting, and standing. Employees frequently reach with hands and feet, and occasionally is required to move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required to perform this job. They include, but are not limited to distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees are exposed to weather conditions consistent with the Texas region. Also, frequent exposure to moving equipment, and high noise levels typical of a manufacturing plant.
