Job Description Western Motorcoach is Texas' premier charter bus
company. Western Motorcoach is family owned and has been in the
charter bus rental and service business since 2004. We charter
buses for all kinds of groups including VIPs, businesses, travel
agencies, sports teams, schools, civic groups, weddings, churches,
and conventions, just to name a few. The Dispatcher/Scheduler is
responsible for overseeing the scheduling operators and vehicles,
and administrative duties. Promotes the Company---s commitment
towards safety and fairness to all employees, and assists with
maintaining and improving the company in the areas of the safety
program, customer service and the drivers well being. DUTIES
Assigns drivers and Motorcoaches for the daily schedule, including
out of town trips and tours. Provides drivers with charter
paperwork and any information (itineraries, maps, special
instructions) necessary. Monitors GPS system on buses, including
paperless logs for drivers, and monitoring compliance. Coordinates
with Sales on availability for future work i.e. special requests.
Schedules and informs Drivers of upcoming events, i.e. training
sessions, meetings. Notifies drivers of license and DOT physical
renewals and random drug tests. Ensures documents are renewed and
tests are taken on time. Consults with Motorcoach Operators
regarding log auditing and paperless log training, hours of service
compliance issues, and other issues as needed. Provides input to
Regional Director regarding performance reviews, disciplinary
actions, and performance coaching. Responsible for 24 hour company
cell phone to receive incoming customer and driver calls. Works in
excess of normal working hours as workloads and seasonal activities
are encountered. Complies with company and safety policies and
procedures. Responsible for report writing; keeping all concerned
updated of daily activities. Assists with Motorcoach Operators
hiring process which includes training. Provides support in
implementing and training employees on policies and procedures.
Audits charter envelopes from finished charters, checking for
accuracy and violations when needed to assist. Contributes to
process improvement on a regular basis. Other duties include (but
not limited to) answering incoming calls to the office, keeping
driver paperwork stocked, answering customer and driver questions
regarding charters, and filing. Works in excess of normal working
hours as workloads and seasonal activities are encountered.
Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required. Some
college preferred. Knowledge of and ability to learn, and or, use
Microsoft Excel and Word, and various software applications.
Ability to communicate policies and procedures and implement safety
and training programs. Ability to understand and follow oral and
written instructions and to express ideas effectively orally and in
writing. Ability to multi-task and efficiently handle numerous
details simultaneously. Knowledge of basic mathematics. Ability to
present to different size groups and audience types. Ability to
work with a variety of skilled/unskilled, professional and
administrative personnel. Ability to learn company policies and
training curriculum, and deliver both in a consistent and detailed
manner. Must be a team player and willing to accept and support
company processes and systems. Ability to be on-call when
needed
