Life Academy Production and Enterprise Coordinator for Monarch's Adult Community

The Monarch School and Institute provides an innovative, therapeutic education for individuals with neurological differences-such as those associated with autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit (hyperactivity) disorder, learning disabilities, Tourette syndrome, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, traumatic brain injury and seizure disorders. We offer a learner-centered approach that helps students progress in Four Core Goal areas.

The Life Academy Production and Enterprise Coordinator facilitates the supervision of a team of faculty, the direction, development, and administration of the Monarch Enterprise system regarding items to be produced and sold. The person in this position will work closely with other system leaders and is considered a member of the day school faculty.

Examples of items to be produced include culinary, makerspace, art, and various culinary based items. This person should be creative and efficacious in leading the team to expand production, sales, and marketing of the items.
A priority goal is to lead the team of faculty. Life academy, and adult learners to secure requests for baked and other goods at local coffee shops, produce from Monarch's gardens, and corporate and holiday gifts to be created by the Enterprise Workforce at Monarch, thus sustaining the supported employment opportunities for Monarch's adult learners.
This position supports and continues to build out opportunities for The Enterprise Program to hire and pay adults living with neurological differences for production and sales of items thus building out sustainable supported employment at Monarch.

Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business, Psychology, or related field.
Special Education Certified Teacher preferred.
Direct experience serving adults with neurological differences.


Collaborates to implement the vision and mission for Life Academy in coordination with Monarch leadership and Life Academy/Elective Faculty.
Collaborates with faculty regarding the use of the facilities, programs, and faculty.
Leads opportunities for external employment with Monarch's Employability Coach on schedules and field experiences for the adult community.
Leads the team to successfully implement after school opportunities for the program to plan and conduct soirees, sell items at the Marketplace annual Transforming Lives event, Winter Holiday Sales event, etc.
Leads the team in organizing socials and parties to enhance social opportunities for the adult community.
Collaborates with Development to support funding for Life Academy programs including scholarships, grants, sponsorships, and in-kind donations.
Advocates for Life Academy involvement (promoting and sales) in The Monarch School Community and greater community.

Leads in organizing business opportunities for students outside of the school environment including opportunities to sell Wing Store items at trade shows, fairs, conferences, and other events appropriate to their growth and sustaining the sales of production items through the Enterprise system.
Leads identification of the Challenger and Voyager Levels for adult community members leading to supported employment at Monarch.

Supervises school-based businesses for purchasing of materials for The Monarch School, gift business, and other businesses as developed by students and faculty.
Provides program information internally and externally regarding the Life Academy and Enterprise Program through conferences, meetings, and training.
Collaborates with Monarch Leadership on long term planning and direction of the Life Academy, Production, and Enterprise System.

Assists with the development, monitoring, and reporting on the Life Academy budget and Enterprise.
Assists in growing enrollment for the program.
Facilitates parent notifications, timelines, and permissions for all adult community needs.
Assists the Marketing Director in developing brochures, fliers, and other materials necessary for good public relations of the adult community /Life Academy Production and Enterprise Program within and outside of the Monarch community.
Assists with the ongoing accreditation of the school as a member of the Accreditation Committee.
Performs other duties as assigned.


Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and strong written/verbal communication skills.
Able to problem solve and create and implement schedules for faculty and the adult community.
Ability to hold self and others accountable for expectations.
Highly skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and Outlook.
Exhibit ethical behavior and confidentiality.
Ability to support a positive work environment for the team and enhance the lives of our adult community members.

Working conditions range in a wide variety of challenges and deadlines in a highly professional, confidential, and friendly environment. The best candidate should be able to perform well under pressure, think logically, remain calm, and be a great problem solver. Although the position is emotionally rewarding, and provides endless opportunities to have positive effects, it can be stressful at times. Ability to lift 40 pounds. Frequent standing, kneeling, stooping, and bending. Ability to move desk, classroom equipment and adaptive equipment.
