The Alliance of Community Assistance Ministries, Inc. (ACAM) is a nonprofit management support organization leading a network of 59 nonprofit and community organizations to advance community-wide solutions through collaboration to strengthen the social safety net in Harris, Fort Bend, Waller, Brazoria, Galveston, and Montgomery Counties. ACAM has 15 core nonprofit partners that share "assisting those in crisis" as a central part of their missions. These community-based agencies are uniquely positioned to identify, engage, and provide critical services to at-risk families. They collectively serve over 350,000 individuals annually with more than 9 million units of 167 unique services and have established reputations as leaders in providing exemplary and compassionate services. ACAM assists network partners through high-impact collaboration, training, and management support services as they provide opportunities for families and individuals to meet and rise above their basic needs. -ACAM seeks a consultant to coordinate speakers and logistics for online and in-person trainings for experienced nonprofit professionals. ACAM's training program has 5 tracks, each designed to build skills and knowledge with the goal of strengthening the regional human services social safety net: - - - - - - -Volunteer Management - - - - - - -Resource Development - - - - - - -Program Management - - - - - - -Thrift Store Institute - - - - - - -Other Opportunities -Training sessions are held weekly/bi-weekly from January through September; planning for 2023 is underway. Trainings are tentatively scheduled on Tuesdays from 9:00 am - 10:00 am (date and time subject to change based on retained consultants schedule/recommendations). The position requires attendance at all sessions to facilitate both online or in-person. -The Training & Networking Consultant will: - - - - - - -Research session topics and engage talented speakers for the target audience. - - - - - - -Coordinate at least 25 training sessions between January - September 2023. - - - - - - -Secure free or low-cost meeting space, order refreshments, print materials, and provide general oversight of all meeting logistics. - - - - - - -At least three weeks prior to each session, collect speaker bio, pre-test and post-test questions intended to demonstrate a measurable increase in learning among participants, hand-outs/presentations and other meeting materials. - - - - - - -Market training sessions through dynamic messaging to generate excitement about the training/topic. - - - - - - -Collect and report in-kind records from speakers who donate services. - - - - - - -Attend and host all online and in-person sessions to moderate discussion and promote a team building and peer-to-peer learning atmosphere among attendees. - - - - - - -Manage contingency plans for unanticipated events including unavailability of speakers, technology failures, weather events, and facility conflicts. - - - - - - -Distribute follow-up materials and collect data (through session surveys and post-tests, end-of-year surveys and interviews or focus groups) to evaluate the success of sessions, relevance of topics and effectiveness of speakers through. - - - - - - -Provide regular reports for ACAM Board meetings (quarterly), biannual reports (July & December) including collected data and analysis. - - - - - - -Ensure collection of payment from agencies participating in training program. May include generating and sending invoices. - - - - - - -Other duties related to the Training & Networking program that may arise. -This is a part-time, remote position structured to compensate for 10 billable hours per session at $70 per hour ($700 per session) and a planning fee of 10 billable hours at $70 per hour ($700 for collecting and recording feedback and plan development). -Bachelor's degree required. Other training/certifications in facilitation or related areas and/or postgraduate degree preferred. 2-4 years' experience; experience with nonprofits preferred; comfortable presenting to groups; familiar with online meeting platforms.
