opportunity for a Production Technician in our Lone Star Operations
owned by Rohm and Haas, a subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company,
and is proud to operate and be a partner in the Deer Park
community.About youThe plant operates an emulsion reactor which
produces more than twenty polymers' products. These products are
sold into the coatings, building and construction, paper, textiles,
and adhesives markets. We are looking for top-caliber, technically
capable Operator Technicians who embrace change, adapt fast, make
decisions quickly, possess self-confidence and are lifelong
learners. These positions require a high degree of dedication to
safety and environmental stewardship. Production Technicians
perform a variety of tasks as required in the operation of the Lone
Star Site. We will provide all necessary tools and training.Your
Key ResponsibilitiesFollows Operating Discipline policies,
principles, procedures, standards and practices to ensure safe,
reliable and efficient operation of assigned plant areas. Ensures
adequate operating discipline is available for all planned and
unplanned activities.Operates and field checks process equipment.
Monitors process conditions, key performance metrics, equipment and
control systems and makes appropriate decisions to maintain and/or
achieve desired rates and conditions aligned with
Plant/Site/Business goals.Product loading of railcars, tank trucks,
isotainers, and flexitanks (bladder tanks)Product unloading
hazardous and non-hazardous materialsProduct storage operations;
hose switching station operations; scale house operations; railcar
cleaning.Enters Load In, Load Complete, and Shipment Complete in
SAP for all shipmentsCompletes Tank transfers, switching and
monitoringPerforms scheduled operational and related tasks and
tasks that arise as a result of resolving unplanned events.Performs
Autonomous Maintenance, including minor repairs and preventative
maintenance, utilizing appropriate policies, procedures, processes
and disciplines.Lift hoses, bolt flanges and operate valves and
similar equipment including the proper clearing and isolation of
equipmentOffload packaged raw materials in the warehouse; date and
put away raw materials in the warehouse; rotate raw materials in
the warehouse; label lines; paint and clean as time
permits.Completes filter/strainer changes as required.Prepares
equipment for maintenance (including isolation of energy sources,
line and equipment opening)Issues Safe Work Permits for all types
of unit maintenancePerforming routine operation of basic control
systems and devices to monitor levels, temperatures, pressures and
flow rates and transfer of productsWeigh/pump up of materials for
batch preparationsManual addition of raw materials to
processParticipates on Empowered TeamsFollow operating discipline,
procedures, and practices to ensure a safe and efficient operation
of assigned dutiesTroubleshoot process, product quality, safety,
and environmental problems and identify equipment requiring
maintenance.Participate in daily meetings.Maintain unit
housekeepingFollow the MPWP, and Environmental Health and Safety
(EH&S) and Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS)
procedures and practices.Required qualificationsHigh School Diploma
or GED AND one (1) of the following are required:Associates Degree
or higher in any field with a minimum of: 1 semester of College
Algebra, 4 semesters of Science/Technology (computer, chemistry,
biology, physics, environmental, mechanical) and 2 semesters of
communication classes (computer, English, speech). Will consider 4
or more years of Military experience in lieu of a degree.Associates
Degree plus a Process Technology Certification.5 or more years of
manufacturing experience as a Production Technician/Operator with
demonstrated strong technical, interpersonal, and teamwork
skills.Willing to adhere to all safety standards, including the
smoke-free and drug-free workplace policy.Current, valid US
driver's license.Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as
Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.A
minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to
work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (U.S.
citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or Qualifying
Asylee/Refugee).Willing and able to meet physical demands of the
job, with or without reasonable accommodations:Lift, push, and pull
up to 55 lbs.Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.Stand, walk,
stoop, and twist.Stand 50% of the time.This role does involve
elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the
ground.Your skills, knowledge, and abilities include:Willing to

drug-free workplace policy.Basic computer skills and be willing to
learn new systems.Able to anticipate changes that will be required
to complete projects.Willing and able to learn and successfully
operate various mechanical machines, both manual and automated
equipment.Able to read, write and comprehend documents in
English.Good technical skills to learn and grow, keeping current
with new automation and technology operating both mechanical lift
