As an Advisory Technical Consultant, you will lead identification and resolution of customers' problems with our solutions. This involves maintaining a keen understanding of the customer deployment, AspenTech's solutions, competency programs, value proposition and execution capabilities to drive customer success so AspenTech solutions continue to bring significant business value to our customers.

This position requires frequent daily engagements with customers and internal stakeholders. Individuals need to be self-motivated with excellent business, industry, and technical knowledge along with strong consultative and communication skills to position AspenTech solutions with our customers.Your Impact

  • Act as a leader and domain expert to resolve customers' technical software problems related to AspenTech's Engineering software suite.
  • Effectively engage with accounts using digital tools such as web meetings, phone discussions, chats / messaging, and email. Track and document all activities in a CRM system.
  • Use a digital Early Warning System to detect accounts which may have software usage or adoption problems. Provide feedback and ideas to improve effectiveness of the Early Warning System.
  • Conduct digital health checks to identify problems that could impede usage of AspenTech software. Provide written health check reports to customer and internal stakeholders. Document written health check reports in the Salesforce CRM repository.
  • Be a trusted advisor and work with customers' senior executives to influence and agree on an engagement plan to drive usage of our solutions. Regularly engage with account to check progress and document progress.
  • Advise deployment & maintenance strategies for AspenTech solutions.Provide expert guidance for the deployment and continued use of AspenTech solutions.
  • Reinforce AspenTech's software capabilities as the best possible solution when faced with competitive threats.
  • Author and publish expert-level white paper KB articles on technical topics and best practices to AspenTech's web support portal.
  • Deliver high quality training classes to industry experts and new users within our customer base. Assess competency needs and develop competency plans for our customer base.
  • Provide feedback and ideas to improve AspenTech's solutions.
  • Actively mentor junior Technical Consultants so that they develop business acumen and industry domain competencies.What You'll Need
    • Bachelor's Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
    • 15-30 years of process industry, technical support, pre-sales or professional services consultant experience, preferably related to the chemical, refining or manufacturing industries.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively through multiple channels including digital engagements.
    • Balance of business and technology acumen, including ability to articulate high-level technical solutions to business problems and the differentiated value the solutions can provide.
    • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to create clear observations, analysis and conclusions based on customer discussions and data
    • Fluent English speaker, second language preferred is Spanish
