Job Description:
Inventory Planner - Perioperative Operations Administration
The ideal candidate for the Inventory Planner will have an
Associate's degree or higher, strong problem solving skills,
communication skills, experience working with vendors, and should
be proficient in PeopleSoft and Excel. EPIC experience is
preferred. The role will include data review and problem solving.
Should have good team skills, self-directed and solution
oriented.
Key Functions
Inventory
- Oversees & Coordinates ordering, receiving, inventory par level
replenishment process, procedure base case cart system and PICIS
stock dictionary for Perioperative Enterprise, to include Main/ACB
Operating Room.
- Assists in preparing and maintaining supporting
documentation/authorization files and database to track inventory
and assets.
- Participates in the acquisition, controls and reconciliation of
inventory and assets.
- Performs a inventory and replenishment of kits and supplies
audits in assigned area.
- Supports implants, kits and supplies for integrity or
expiration dates in coordination with materials and clinical
teams.
- Supports functions related to receiving and counts items and
records data manually or via computer.
- Assists to help ensure proper labels supplies before placing in
the proper location.
- Makes interpretive assessments and determines inventory levels
for supply items which support contract reviews and quality
business reviews with the Procedural Operations
Administration.
- Determines proper storage methods, identification and stock
location based on turnover, environmental factors and physical
capabilities of facilities. Planning & Delivery/Quality Assurance
- Provides insight to plan and stock levels of supplies (both
Consigned and PAR items) to be delivered and on-site
- Develops and supports program to ensure product availability
for OR scheduled cases particularly but not limited to Breast
Implant Cases, Ophthalmology Implants, Urology Implants
- Identifies, seeks and participants in process improvement
projects
- Coordinates supply delivery with assistance of MDA courier
services.
- Checks transmittal papers against material received or
delivered.
- Verifies inventory computations by comparing them to physical
counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjusts
errors.
- Documents deficiencies, if any, and refers problem situations
to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Maintains records for inventory, acquisition and transfer to
ensure proper chain of custody for all deliveries and pickups.
- Responsible for overall housekeeping of warehouse areas.
- Packs and unpacks items to be stocked on shelves.
- Partners to support and delivers implants and supplies on a
regular schedule and as needed basis between buildings. Data Entry
& Analysis and Communication
- Provide Analysis support for spend and reconciliation of supply
to reduce on hand items, spoilage.
- Collaborates with supervisors and technicians to ensure
materials needs are met.
- Record/Scan new implants into Excel Spreadsheet or inventory
tools
- Review Charge Nurse/Chart Reviewer implant log sheet: for
replacement of used implants
- Determines which items will be added or deleted from
stock.
- Provides data for productivity and utilization reports.
- Inputs, retrieves and interprets data from computer-based
information system.
- Assists in the implementation of new inventory and supply
tracking system.
Other duties as assigned.
Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Associate Degree or higher in business operations or
supply chain
Experience
Required: Three years in purchasing and/or inventory
management.
