JOB OBJECTIVE
A Journeyman Industrial Plumber will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal. A plumber will maintain the flow and drainage of water, air, and other gases by assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures throughout the refinery plants and buildings.
REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE

  • Must have 3+ years' experience in the industry.
  • Must be a Licensed Journeyman Plumber in the State of Texas.
  • Must be able to respond to emergency calls as needed.
  • Must perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition.
  • Must be able to operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  • Must be able to follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.
  • Must be able to correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
  • Must be willing and able to follow all instructed safety regulations.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Must pass drug and background check. KNOWLEDGE
    • Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
    • Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders.
    • Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures.
    • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc.; install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment.
    • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems.
    • Plan, install and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls, test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
    • Receive and complete work orders.
    • Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.
    • Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.
    • Maintain inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and materials.
    • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
    • Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & CAPABILITIES

        • High School Diploma or equivalent PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
          • Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
          • Will talk and hear to communicate.
          • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.
          • May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
          • Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
          • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
          • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
