PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Extensive travel to customer sites to install, commission,
troubleshoot, and repair BOP stacks, BOP control systems, Motion
Compensation equipment and subassemblies such as:
- Ram BOPs and subassemblies
- Annulars/SBOPs
- Discreet hydraulic and multiplex (MUX) control pods
- Subsea gate valves
- Piston, bladder, and depth compensated accumulator bottles
- BOP stack mounted control system components
- Surface BOP control systems, HPUs, and Diverter panels
- High pressure manifolds
- Crown mounted compensators, drill string compensators, wireline
tensioners, and inline tensioners.
- Use machine drawings to define acceptable tolerances using
measurement tools including, but not limited to, dial calipers, ID
& OD micrometers, vernier slide calipers, depth micrometers, inside
spring calipers, and feeler gauges.
- Perform field upgrades and train customers on how to properly
operate the system.
- Interface with relevant departments to obtain a thorough
understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated,
tested, calibrated and problems are resolved timely. Provide
training to other NOV personnel on systems and equipment as
needed.
- Provide accurate and timely report(s) regarding work progress
and output, and communicate field failures and feedback reports to
the appropriate departments.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and
procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Technical College diploma a plus
- Minimum 2 years of Subsea or Pressure Control Equipment field
service experience
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to travel extensively, both domestically and
internationally, to job sites.
- Must comply with all QMS documentation pertaining to work
related assigned responsibilities.
- Physical demands include working outside in varying, extreme
weather conditions; standing for long periods; working at heights;
ability to safely carry up to 50 lbs on job site.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be familiar Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems theory and be able
to read associated schematics
- Must be able to understand Mechanical Systems theory, in
particular, with regards to hydraulically and pneumatically
controlled systems
- Must understand basic Industry Safety, previous training is a
plus.
- Must be familiar with Oil & Gas Regulatory Standards, in
particular API S53 standards of offshore pressure control
equipment
- Must be familiar with reading calibrated instruments and
compare readings to dimensional drawings. Must be familiar with
high pressure testing and validation of test charts.
