Duties & Responsibilities
Some of your major responsibilities will include:
- Support scientific data acquisition, analysis, and development
of an in-situ sensor to be used in low Earth orbit.
- Work closely with JETS Orbital Debris Research & Science
Operations (ODRSO) colleagues and NASA customers.
- Present work products to customers and counterparts in written
and verbal formats.
- Support and participate in technical interchange meetings.
- Perform other tasks assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with spectroscopy, microscopy, Charged Coupled
Devices (CCDs) and/or telescopes.
- Experience in data analysis using MATLAB, Python, or other
similar programming languages.
- Experience with design of experiment methodology.
- Experience with laboratory measurement methods and record
- BS degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Astronomy or
relevant discipline from an accredited college or university plus
two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Space Situational Awareness astronomy, orbital
debris, and micrometeoroid environments.
- Astrometric/photometric/radiometric data reduction and analysis
- Experience with spacecraft design, development, testing, and/or
- Familiarity with orbital mechanics.
- Work effectively in interdisciplinary teams and possess
excellent oral and written skills.
- Exhibit the qualities of creativity, conception, vision, and
personal initiative, and will be expected to develop new
cooperative relationships and team capabilities.
