Job Description:

The Sr Applications Systems Analyst will support the Enterprise
Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, and Enterprise Planning
environments
***Ideal candidates will have experience with Oracle Business
Intelligence Enterprise Edition***

Business/Advisory
--- Maintain working knowledge of customer's business processes &
operations. --- Stay abreast on business and technology trends to
understand impact on our current service line portfolio.
--- Understand the impact of the job within the institution; have
and use cross-functional knowledge to understand interdepartmental
connections.
--- Holds or participates in regular project/work sessions with
staff and business users to discuss priorities. Provide consulting
and technical support throughout the project life cycle to our
Business by conveying industry trends, enterprise technology
strategy and define technical solutions which meet the needs of the
business. Design innovative solutions to business problems and
enhancement requests, taking full account of existing system design
constraints.
Business/Technical Competencies
--- Lead Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE)
implementation initiatives including facilitating meetings, Lead
standard project implementation processes including requirements
gathering, solution design, gap analysis, functional design
specifications for our reporting needs, system configuration,
testing, training, and complete detailed documentation leveraging
standardized templates.
--- Work with enterprise architects, project teams, functional and
technical analysts to design solution architecture that meets
operational requirements and is scalable, easily maintained, secure
and highly available.
--- Work with other Architects and Project Teams to facilitate
alignment among architecture decisions.
--- Develop and produce Architecture artifacts, technical designs,
strategy documents and other technical artifacts.
--- Facilitate and manage evaluations and proof of concept
activities as a subject matter expert.
--- Provide oversight to design and develop the database logical
and physical data model for normalized and non-normalized data
structures
--- Architect data migration strategy for the system
--- Architect reusable and proven design patterns to extract,
transform and load data
--- Design schema definitions for OLTP and OLAP databases
--- Provide oversight to design and develop data warehouse
model
--- Develop standards that govern the strategy to collect
metadata
--- Implement best practices and standards to analyze, profile and
store data
--- Develop and document standards and guidelines to govern the use
of data integration tools and processes
--- Perform requirements gathering, analysis, scope and time
estimation of ETLs, reports and dashboards.
--- Prepare time estimates and justifications for assigned tasks
and provide recommendations to project managers.
--- Troubleshoot ETL, EPM, and Reporting problems and tune ETLs and
reports for performance.
--- Prioritize, schedule and monitor activities and quality of work
for assigned resources to include the creation of work plans and
status reports to management following the Institutional Systems
Development Methodology.
--- Will serve as a subject matter expert for Oracle Business
Intelligence Extended Edition (OBIEE), Hyperion, while
demonstrating expertise in Oracle BI Server, Essbase, Oracle BI
Answers, Oracle BI Interactive Dashboard, and Oracle BI
Delivers.
--- Create Reports, Ad-Hoc Queries and Interactive Dashboards in
support of MD Anderson business objectives, using a variety of
display and delivery options.
--- Utilize reporting best-practices to make reports flexible and
re-useable, and to ensure the best user experience possible.

Requirements
Education Required: Bachelor's degree.
Education Preferred: None
Experience Required: Five years experience in domain, analysis,
design, project management, Epic software or programming. May
substitute required education degree with additional years of
equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
Preferred Experience: Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise
Edition experience. Nine years of integration programming and/or
systems level experience. Experience working in a consulting
environment
