Job Description:
As a Cargo Agent Trainer you will provide the initial general
training to all new hire agents to prepare them for job-specific
on-the-job-training (OJT) with leads in their designated area. The
initial training will typically be classroom-style training with
hands-on opportunities as appropriate. May also conduct follow-up
support training during the OJT phase as needed. The Cargo Agent
Trainer will monitor the training progress of the new hire along
with the lead for their assigned work area. This position requires
an extremely perceptive person, who can relate to individuals at
all levels. Part of the work will be to document their progress in
training and proving updates to SMC and Customer leaders. Salary
Range: The salary for this position is anticipated to range between
$44,000 - 48,000 per year. This range is a good-faith estimate,
based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including
but not limited to experience, training, and other considerations
permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may
include a candidate's skills and experience, the expected quality
and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most
candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. In

Functions
- Provide United Cargo foundation training needed for agent's in
their first week to be able to continue their training with the SMC
lead in their assigned work area.
- Evaluate the trainees' skills, knowledge, and needs for the
assigned work area to help set them up for success.
- Own the training program along with the modules and training
material needed for their first week of training for all new
hires.
- Deliver training sessions effectively using classroom and on
the job training methods.
- Provide feedback to the trainees to facilitate learning and
improvement.
- Manage training resources efficiently, including materials,
equipment, and booking training room for classroom trainings.
- Maintain an accurate record for each new hire on their training
progress.
- Become an expert in 5-6 functional areas/positions within the
facility
- Complete New Hire Check ins during the first 1-4 weeks of
employment.
- Communicate with the leads to ensure all new hires complete
their new hire training in their work areas.
- Ensure that trainees are staying engaged, productive, and
working with a sense of urgency.
- Ensure that trainees are working safely and using all PPE that
has been provided to them for use while performing the functions of
their job.
- Using effective training methods, work respectfully with their
trainees, and be available to the trainees to handle any questions
they may have regarding how to correctly perform the functions of
the job.
- Review the Error Reports with each agent trainee individually.
Enter a tickler in Stafftrack documenting the error and the
re-training needed or follow up needed.
- Trainer can make employment decisions-based re-training and no
improvement on failures per United Cargo standards.
- Trainers will be expected to assist the SMC team during
training downtime (i.e. assist with coverage if needed for the SMC
team during PTO, assist with failure follow up, and other tasks as
needed) Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience providing training
- Knowledgeable in safety expectations, policies, and procedures
for United Cargo
- Experience coaching and motivating others
- Physical ability to be on feet and walk 10-12 hours per day 5-6
days per week
- Knowledge of MS Office software: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint,
Word
- Ability to prioritize and plan in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others
- Ability to manage a large workload promptly
