ASSOCIATE CSOC ANALYST, INFORMATION SECURITY CenterPoint Energy is
seeking an Associate Cyber Security Analyst who will be our first
layer of defense. This Analyst will be responsible for quick
detection and incident response using various security monitoring
and automation tools. The Cyber Security Operations Analyst will be
responsible for shift work in the SOC, a 24/7 operation center,
which provides security support to all CenterPoint Energy
properties, employees, and other Stakeholders Key responsibilities
of an Associate CSOC Analyst job include:
- Monitoring Security Systems: Observing security tools like
SIEM, EDR, SOAR tools
- for unusual activity or potential threats.
- Responding to Alerts: Investigating and responding to security
alerts, escalating
- issues when necessary.
- Researching Threats: Staying informed about emerging cyber
threats and attack
- vectors.
- Incident Reporting: Assist Senior Analyst on Preparing reports
on security incidents
- and breaches.
- User Education: Educating users about security best practices
and policies.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of security
activities, configurations,
- and incidents. Skills and Requirements:
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of computer systems,
networks, and security
- principles.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to identify patterns, analyze data,
and solve problems.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot security issues
and develop
- solutions.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate
technical information to
- both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and
prioritize work
- effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and resolve subtle
security issues.
- Adaptability: Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to
changing security
- threats. Qualifications
- Associate's degree or above in IT related field, Cyber Security
relevant certifications, and/or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Certifications
- Security +
