Position Information The Project Coordinator I will support the NRCP Installation Support team with project implementation and tracking. Provides technical and biological support to military installations and other stakeholders for achieving compliance with Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations for base activities. Daily activities may include, but not limited to, surveying and managing wildlife populations and species of concern; invasive species management; habitat restoration; collecting, analyzing, and managing GIS data and creating maps and summary and compliance reports; inventorying and maintaining progress reports. Responsibilities: -Coordinates project activities including project initiation, work plan development, communication with stakeholders and sponsors. -Write reports and other related materials. Monitors and reports on financial activity for assigned projects. -Coordinates with vendors for systems and services. -Coordinates multiple work streams to ensure cross-project dependencies and impacts are identified and managed -Ensure compliance with applicable regulations. -Summarize results for scientific and clientele-oriented publications. - Coordinate logistics such as developing itineraries, purchasing, administrative duties, and research-related activities. - Plan and implement protocols for installation support, through training, wildlife surveys, managing habitat for wildlife and documentation. - Other duties as required. Required Education and Experience: -Bachelor’s Degree in natural resources related field e.g., (Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences, Ecosystem Science and Management, Environmental Science) or closely related discipline. -Three years of related professional experience. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: -Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment. -Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to create databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks. -Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. -Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of standard proofreading. -Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines. -Ability to travel and stay overnight when required. -Ability to complete objectives in a timely manner. -Experience with threatened and endangered (T&E) species. What You Need to Know Soft Funding Clause: Due to this position’s salary having all or a portion of it being funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon the availability of these funds in the future.
