SUMMARY: The Cost Accountant/Estimator is responsible for
serving as a valued member in the finance department while working
closely with the engineering department and ensuring these
departments create accurate and timely reports for the Houston

Completes month-end closing activities including journal entries
and account reconciliations accurately, timely and support quarter
and year-end closing activities.
Performs variance analysis based on month-end results.
Estimate the cost of new products.
Compare the actual cost of the finished product to the estimated
cost, determine the reason for any discrepancy, and how to
Analyze the effect of changes in design, materials, and
manufacturing methods on costs.
Reviews and updates standard costs, verifies the accuracy of the
Bill of Materials & roll standard costs, when necessary.
Assists with the coordination of both internal and external
Supports the Division Controller with analysis of customer and
business vertical profitability
Other reporting activities or projects as required.
The Cost Accountant/Estimator has no direct supervisory
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Experience with JD Edwards is a plus; experience with in an ERP
environment required MS Office, including Excel & Word.
Prior Cost Accounting experience is required.

limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of
